Unfortunately they are
How about a thread title âSecond Request: Help, undermesh enemy plus suspected DDOSâ
There are X notable mesh access points. One of them is very tough to get to and requires some steps. The others are very accessible. Have you tried Jhebbal Sag? It has worked for me on these spots, rather recently on a test server.
No we only documented at this point so we donât break any rules but thank you for that advice. I really appreciate it.
Iâm sure most gamers have at some point been accused of cheating, Iâve been reported a few times on Xbox live by people who were sure I was cheating. No action was ever taken against me because I wasnât cheating.
More importantly though I donât know what experience the reporters had, and I donât hold their reports against them. If they thought I was cheating then reporting me was the correct move on their part, because cheaters make the game worse for everyone
There is nothing wrong with discussing cheating, the problem with naming people who you believe are cheating is double.
The first problem is obvious, some people will just accuse others they donât like of cheating, using the court of public opinion to try to force the other player out of the game
The second is more subtle, itâs when people are being honest and wholeheartedly believe the person they are accusing is cheating, but they are incorrect. Maybe it was lag that caused them to think the other player was cheating, but it could be a number of different things
Sometimes FC representatives just flat out ignore certain topics or issues.
I cannot get a single FC official to comment on why tested patches perform (sometimes the exact opposite of intentions) so unpredictably. Its where all these bugs console is forced to suffer originate. They would rather close a post than speak on it.
When you buy CE it is sold as an online multiplayer game. FC agreed to provide free servers by selling CE as an online experience.
IF FC had a notice that conveyed the online portion of play is not free and requires a rented server to play then the free servers provided by FC would be a bonus. Instead CE is sold without a notice as described and FC is legally required to provide servers to players as advertised.
You draw the weirdest conclusions, about what Funcom is âlegally requiredâ to do. Conan has âOnline Multiplayerâ capability which they included as part of the game for free and have been kind enough to provide us with official servers (for the time being) for free. Next youâre gonna suggest that Funcom is required to pay for everyoneâs ISP fees as well, since that is also a requirement of playing âonline.â
Thats a foolish thing to say.
Some of the earliest pc games used to be like that. They had multiple player capacity and functionality, but it was at an additional cost. Not supported or maintained by the game company. The games were sold and advertised as such. Some still are.
CE and many other games are advertised as online experiences. The only requirements listed on the package are ISP and compatable hardware. As advertised.
Go read something dolt.
Honestly, read the game case or matketplace page. For MS console i need;
- compatable xbox
- Net connection
- XB live or game pass ultimate subscription.
- Not one damed tthing else.
Sold as an online multiplayer experience. Servers are not provided free of charge by FC any more than say, Rockstar, or Blizzard, or Activision, or any other company that advertises an online experience. Period. Then end.
Such a weird conclusion to arrive at huh? Strage how my mind just cant seem to grasp anyrhing other than informationâŠweird!
Personally, do not see an issue with what Funcom has been doing. I may have misunderstood what your are trying to state/explain.
They have sold the game as a one-time cost. They supplied servers which people can play on without any additional cost. The game also can be played solo on your machine without playing online with other people. Best of both worlds for people who like to play with others and those who do not.
So Funcom has fulfilled their promise to the customer.
Also, the game has the option of setting up your own private server or play with friends on your machine. Technically speaking, you never had to spend another dollar after the initial purchase if you did not wish to and still play the game until you get bored with it.
Denying people to use their official servers who do not comply with the rules/regulations established, does not deny them from using/playing the game. Unlike other games like WoW for example, banning a player is locking them out of the game with that account.
A banned player on CE can always play Single Player or on private servers if they wish. So, essence, not a liability to the company since you still have access to the game you purchased and still have access to the online multiplayer experience.
Read the EULA and the TOS. Normally I take the time to explain it, but I figured that maybe you people who insist on these weird fantasies about legal and contractual obligations should grow up and learn to be adults. Do the required reading, for a change, and then if you still believe in your claim, feel free to back it up with the relevant section of the EULA, the TOS, or whichever law you think applies.
PS: @Kitt, this is why I said that I donât have high hopes of your thread working as you stated you wanted it to. Too many people on these forums can neither stay on topic nor abide by any sort of rules if they donât like them.
I addressed the servers provided as a courtesy fable. Do not dispute the ability or need to ban player(s) in anyway. People are animals.
You get the right to play by purchasing, you retain that right by following the ruleset provided. My outlook.
Itâs not a fable, itâs how laws work. And no, you didnât âaddressâ it, you elaborated on your opinion. If you want to address it, go read the actual legally binding documents and then provide arguments to back your claim.
Your outlook is an opinion, not the actual legal situation.
Lets take it to Judge Judy!
And yup, an outlook is an opinion of sorts. Sup? Didnt mention any legalities either thoâŠjust the fact the game is advertised and sold as online. If you follow those rules dictated by whatever game company, you get to continue using the INCLUDED aervers. Sup?
Steam Store says Online PvP, Online Co-Op. I have a cat on my lap or Iâd check my PS4 Blu-Ray box.
In 1995 DOOM 2 was sold as multiplayer. It was peer-to-peer, so all you had to do was supply the network.
Now if I want to play CE I could do the same thing. But to expand the experience Iâd need to run a server on one of the PCs. Folks come over and play every few days.
Uh oh SARS hits, so there go the fun CE parties at my house. No problem. I work some keys, poke a pinhole, run some tests â presto, the server is now available for my friends to play on, across the Internet.
XB and PS are different. Funcom provides free servers on which to play, and that makes it easy and convenient. To create a private server however, players must hire or rent a server. The respective âownersâ of those servers get to make the rules, with no implied warranty, just like I do with my shared PC server. This should not elude you, you seem like a bright person.

Not even going to bother responding to the rest of the spam. I already know there is no point.
This has since been resolved to mutual satisfaction. My suggestion was that the OP use a different title, with a better description of his undermeshing/exploiting issue.
Exactly.
