I believe that the idea and intent here is somehow pure, but I don’t see any real point in it. No offense meant though.
Let me quote: As a group, we want to make sure the community’s feedback reaches the Conan Exiles team in a clear and organized way. By working as a unified group, we can create a transparent channel for constructive criticism and suggestions, ensuring that developers know exactly where improvements are needed.
So what is suppossed to happen here, is that this user account, speaking for all people who joined, is going to modify the group and globally agreed on opinions in the best way for the developer team and community to listen to it, am I getting it right?
Well, I believe most of the users of this forum are fine with speaking their single mind in their own specific way, in any topic they want to contribute to somehow.
I also think that any unified profile of some group which formed this way on another platform won’t matter much more, than opinion of any other single regular user here. Me myself prefer to stay “me”, because I don’t see valid reason to join - this is just discussion forum and I doubt any group profile like this would get some better standard or priority.
If I have an idea or opinion, I can as well say here it on my own. And this way I also don’t have to be worried that some of my single arguments in my idea would be dismissed or not included in the final group statement.
So do nothing then? I don’t understand that narrative. It’s so simple to just look at the track record and see the steady decline with players, updates, fixes ect. Why not put some effort in and try to change the status quo… or I guess do nothing and continue to be disappointed.
@Jimbo ,
Would you be so kind as to direct message this response or a reasonable approximation of it’s contents?
Please?
This one had a notification that you had specifically mentioned or quoted this one in a reply, but when this one got there, the cupboard was bare, so to speak.
Regardless of any disagreements, this one would very much like the opportunity to read what was said.
If some oath or assurance of non response or non tantrum is required, this one is willing.
Since transparency is such an important tenet to this whole thing, I might as well share this lovely unsolicited message I recieved from the initiative’s dear leader
It will always be tempting to have this kind of power, as you said.
It is presented as something for everyone, something equal and united, but only the chosen ones in that group are going to have the final word, the same as only they will have the end decision in what exactly they will include in the possible statements.
But the fact is, no one who is not developer or part of their team has more valid opinions than the rest of player base. One thing is to put it all in the nice and clear structured way, but it’s all only about one or two people having the feeling others are nodding to their leadership, and using their group member’s contributions as a tool to push their own way.
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I didn’t read the whole thread because it’s very long.
The group sounds like it would be a good idea. I like feedback being presented rationally. But my concern is this: Let’s just say this group has 50 players in it. If the group gives a comment on an issue, how does that comment have more weight than 50 people all commenting individually? Wouldn’t Funcom notice the 50 individual comments much quicker and be more likely to listen to them (assuming they were constructive and not just derrogatory)?
When @Kikigirl send me the discord invitation i gladly accept it. I am already member of numerous discord pages and i am happy that this game has so passionate followers. I do agree with this statement here…
This statement is not wrong either…
Yet the burden of this games future, falls only where it supposed to… Our pockets!
So, nerds, rich, poor, tech dummies, etc… As long as you play(ed) and in times pay(ed) , you are allowed to say!
Every effort to gather feedback is valuable.
Gaming is a hobby for all the people, as long as they own any console. So all the voices are equally valuable and should be at least respected!
My personal goal visiting this forum and numerous discord pages is to greet fellow exiles, apply my opinions , share my goofy stories, meet people who love what i love and why not, make friends!
So @Kikigirl and @Cauthey, thanks a million for inviting me to your CE living room.
Exactly. What was also my point: The more people in the group, the less value and time and effort to pay extra attention to every single one of them, before releasing the final statement as a group.
That’s why I said I think that the followers of this group are just gonna work like tools, voices for the person in charge, who is gonna make the final statements (ideally based on everything the other people said). And I think it is not going to work this way, sadly. I might as well be wrong, this is just my opinion for now.
Power corrupts. Put into a position like this, I guarantee you Cauthey will very quickly turn into everything he’s accused me of being. You can already see it starting in this very thread.
I think it is pretty well explained in the detail tabs. It isn’t about a certain feature or item or overall game direction and more about how things are done.
The last update and the hotfix caused a lot of frustration and not all is about the new features, actually most of it is about bugs.
If I want to scream about, that thralls shouldn’t be opening doors, opening the door to a new way of griefing, I will do that from my own account.
PErhaps this initiative is born out of the fear that the game we like and spent thousands of hours on, is going to die, accelerated by poor communication and rampant bugs.
I don’t know, just a quick rant from my side
but i still want to hear frome the them allso becuse it dont see this in the describtion on this topic,
okay but why can it not be done in here on the forum why on a discord that is wahy im so comfused over why on discord and not on the forum we have talked over in years now
that is pretty vague tbh. Turning living settlements with the hotfix, makes everyone on pve-c vulnerable. You just have to stand in front of a door and wait for a thrall to open it and you are insede the base.
I was killed 3 times in the past 3 days like this.
Not funny
Don’t get me wrong, but I don’t care about any personal stuff you have with Cauthey, I don’t even have the insight here.
I am only reacting in terms of the global original post’s point, and stating my unbiased concerns about something what seems like a good idea in general, but has it’s “buts”.
