But if there are no new updates, there are no new players. Servers go silent. More servers get merged. More players quit. The game just dies off. So yeah, they just killed the game off.
PS5 has been promised an upgrade for years that never came. New players won’t put up with these graphics on a PS5 Pro. They just lied to us. And it honestly sucks.
Really sad for the console players man; I can only empathize for them…
btw, if exiles can swap between Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah; wouldn’t we just ride boats to leave the isles for freedom ? Well unless they retcon the Isle of Siptah having some sort of its own green wall in lore

Fantastic news!!! I’ve seen the video and it looks spectacular!!! This also shows that Funcom isn’t letting the game die. However, we still have some issues that need fixing, like the problems dropping items from the inventory.
I hope they don’t take too long to release it for PS5 consoles.
I agree. I feel sick about it all. I have been a loyal player for 6yrs, made sure to support them since I loved this game so much. I’m really shocked after being so excited this morning. I’m gonna uninstall the game tomorrow and take my money to a game that appreciates all players.
All console players can do is voice their opinions, unfortunately, because Funcom themselves are shutting down the Bazaar on them. It’s not like console players are choosing to not pay for things. They will be unable - their Crom Coins will be converted for use on the UE5 version… which their accounts/systems will not have access to. I dont know why FC would do that part, but to me it’s a solid indication that the UE4 project is not just not recieving new updates. It’s fully abandoned.
Hard to expect happiness from console players when an update coming out is revealed with some features that plenty of people have been waiting for… and then in the footnotes a note that their version is losing the promise of any new content and likely soon enough any official servers they play on.
They’re upset like you would likely be if all your game progress was going out the window but then you heard that certain lucky people would still be able to play the game with new flashy content… but not you.
It’s not death of the game, no… But it kind of is the death of their game.
They said in the announcement they aren’t shutting down the bazaar on consoles. That’s only happening on the UE4 legacy version on PC.
Ah my apologies. Good catch, I failed to read that properly. Even being inaccurate on that part, I still see it as a huge net loss for them. That doesn’t sway much.

Sorry about the console players, being honest consoles are always behind due to burocracy and their dn validation processes , they are a pain in the butt. I am confidente in time ps5 will ne supported , older consoles very unlikeñy as they will not work well with CE and both maps on tje same server. That is my 2 cents.
But will we get any new content in the selections or is it just old “inventory”
At least console players still have U4 servers and a chance to upgrade to U5 in the future, but as an Epic Games user, I can only say goodbye to the game, my money, characters, buildings, and thralls - 3700 hours wasted. I will definitely not purchase the game with all its add-ons on steam a second time.
i honestly think other platforms on pc, will get the UE5 upgrade sooner than later.
Same thing. I was just thinking buying siptah dlc on epic games then 30 min later i saw the announcement and read it , no online play for epic games. Whaf if i bought the dlc on epic? Waste my money?
The outrage from consoles is justified but misplaced. This isn’t entirely a Funcom issue. The fault also lies with Xbox and Playstation. Funcom can easily make a next gen exclusive port consoles and not leave last gen behind. Same way they did the Series X enhancement. Xbox and Playstation have very strict certification processes that inhibit most devs but there are a few workarounds for this.
The aformentioned enhancement upgrade for next gen consoles
Bring the features over without upgrading the graphics
Bring it all over and leave the last gen consoles behind
I’m in favor of the second option but it is entirely possible to do. Funcom is just trying to make everybody happy. Nobel yes, but the problem is when you try to make everybody happy, you end up making nobody happy.
At the end of the day, it’s ultimately their decision and players need to be content with it. I’m not saying don’t voice your opinion, I’m saying to wait and see how things play out. Patience is a virtue that seems to be a commodity these days.
They said they’re not ruling out the possibility. That’s a shred of hope I’m holding onto so just be patient.
Conan was released on PC long before it came to consoles. The superior hardware deserves this upgrade, console can wait like they did for the original release. All I see here is console whine.
ps. For console users, keep in mind that Conan users have dreaded maintenance mode for years now. This at least offers a chance of continuing existence, and is a huge sign that Conan is still important to Funcom. I suspect they will find a way to make the update on consoles as well, eventually.
I was extremely excited at first, but then I learned that consoles release is not planned. See you never then.

I’d like to add that, while there are currently no plans to bring this upgrade to consoles, Epic Game Store, or the Windows PC Store, we are evaluating releasing on those platforms in the future.
This doesn’t mean that the decision to never release on those platforms has already been made. On the contrary, we are actively evaluating alongside Inflexion.

but why aren’t you releasing it on consoles? Do you not trust console players, or feel like they don’t deserve it? Or do you think the console community is inactive? I want really to understand the real reason behind this decision.
