between the predatory blade and momentum what is better to choose as ive tested them both in the form or raw damage…i cant quite get to grips with only using light attacks on the predatory blade despite its large damage however…the momentum also seems to do the same amount of hits for heavy attacks so im a little torn between the two…the festering one is a good weapon too as the buffs make up around the same amount of damage so thats 3 weapons im unsure about can anyone help despite these issues?

As a PVE weapon for any use
Momentum for sure out of the listed weapons. Light>light>heavy>heavy combo is crazy damage. Get a good thrall with high str and melee multiplier, smack a momentum on it, and just watch it melt everything.

would momentum actully be better over the preditor blade then?
Definitely Momentum, though i have to say if it comes to swords there definitely are some fun legendaries out there. I personally think some of the best moves for 1h sword are the first and last heavy attack.
Nothing wrong with the Predatory blade though, if you don’t mind missing out on those moves.
If you happen upon a Blade of Khosastral Kel, i’d say try it out! Having it unsheathed gives you +15% Strength weapon damage on top of potions and food. You can offhand a shield or Throwing Axe to get the most out of it.

Personal take for PvE
Momentum.
The extra stamina cost, while still painful in our current asthmatic stamina arrangement, is a small price for better armour penetration (when it matters) and for having hyper armour for some attacks. Further, Momentum is capable of applying sunder.
Exception:
If you are just running around the map butchering low level trash or fighting lower level (1-3) purges.
Then the predatory blade shines.

pretty sure it just replaces the flask effect…this might have been changed in recent patches, but a few month ago, having a strength potion effect on and then sheathing the blade deleted the effect of both.

its hard enough to find momentum at the moment ive been defeating 3 skull bosses and none of them are dropping a single skeleton key for chests
Are you harvesting the bodies after you kill them? (The key will not be with the loot in their inventory, you need to skin them or use some other tool on them.)

Oof, you’re right. I’m quite sure it isn’t supposed to be like this…
Makes me miss the old actual stat bonuses on legendaries of +5 or whatever amount it was.

Depends on the use and fighting style … and personal preference.
If you fight as an infantryman and use combos, the Momentum is the best one-handed weapon in the game.
If you’re fighting from horseback - and despite FC’s best efforts you still can - you’re basically just using LA and the fact that you’re immune to stagger and have a pretty decent AoE … that’s where the Predatory Blade is better
Frankly, I wouldn’t stress over what is the absolute best weapon for general purpose PvE. Instead I’d suggest picking the weapon you feel most comfortable using.
For example, I have several Momentums, but I just give them to my thralls because to me, the rhythm of using a mace is unintuitive, so I prefer katanas and daggers over the mace. My DPS may be lower than a proficient Momentum-user’s, but I feel more comfortable, and I get hit less often because I know my animations and when I can land a hit and when to dodge.

that is propbably the most reasonable advise anybody can give on the matter…
I mean, sure you should look for the best weapon within its category, but stick with the category of weapons you feel most comfortable.
I prefer useing short swords, which got a nerf a while back. Used to have very high dps, but I got used to them so much.

In pve, you can use anything you want, all of the weapons can work well enough for all the content this game has to offer.
Momentum is the best weapon for your thralls, though.
Try different weapons, until you find the one that feels good in your hands and kills things fast enough for your liking.
