That the North freezes your ass without adequate armor/food and in the jungle it’s ALWAYS fkng raining. You step out, rain!.. and spiders… and rippers… and giant ass snakes always hissing! 
There are advantages to building there, but unless you’re into a certain theme, who would want to live in those inhospitable places of the map?
So, I agree. Something has to counter the aesthetic disadvantages. I always want to build in the deep jungle, but after a while, all that rain drives me mad.
