"Connection lost" continues to be a significant issue

I hate to say this, but I checked with the Community team before I wrote that post. It is true despite what you may think. They are looking at everything to identify and resolve the issue. Due to the issue’s complexity, the more information the players can provide, the quicker they can resolve it.

Yeah, because the community team is so forth coming. Please, this issue has been going on since Feb and not one word from Funcom. Sure, youre over here “everythings fine, don’t look behind the curtain”, but lets face it, youre a Mod. You dont work for Funcom, have no access to funcom and are just regurgitating nonsense.

They have literally 3 months of data, logs, and information. That is a MOUNTAIN of data. You may be able to spew that nonsense to some kids playing on an xbox, but don’t be throwing that nonsense out to those of us who know. Its not like its 3 people on a specific platform on a specific server. Its spread out across the entire game, all venues, all servers (although it is significantly less of an issue on private hosted servers).

Instead of coming here and shooting down peoples complaints, why not be part of the solution. Ask the community team specifics from funcom and post them. Reach out for the PEOPLE on the forums and not act like the post police. Youre a Mod, how bout you moderate the flow of information BOTH ways.

Right now the game is unplayable for thousands and it is dying. Be part of the solution or step aside and have someone with some real insight start posting. Its been months, your time of being the post police has passed.

You are correct. I am a volunteer here. But, I am a member of a private Discord server with the Community team. I am also a member of a Discord server for the Beta testers and the Development team. I am not going to argue with you.

This is an urgent issue for the team, and they are actively looking at it,

I think a lot of insight is offered here. I think many of us have been through this OP issue and are very frustrated. Players want it fixed and devs are too busy on new tech. Hmm?

In the past, we could say just run the entire game through valgrind. It would point out exactly what the devs are looking for. Windows programmers tend not to understand valgrind, however. Hmm! It’s a kernel “mod”. Want truth, here: valgrind.org.

with not one single update, information or post in over 2 months. Thats the issue. Since you are a member of their discord and seem to have all this access, give us an actual update on what is being done, what they believe the issue is, the timeline they are planning and any other useful information. Not just “I talk to them so everyone shut up and don’t post”. If youre that far in the “know” and you haven’t provided any information, you are certainly part of the problem. We are not arguing here because there is nothing to argue over. We have no information for several months and you have offered no value here. We dont need you to tell us to shut up. We need you to convey information BOTH ways. If this issue was a few days old, sure I can see there being silence while they look at it, but FFS we are MONTHS in. Nothing. Thousands are effected by this for a significant time. Youre passed the part of damage control for them, youve now put yourself as the mouthpiece, show us how in the know you are and get us all some answers. Its been months. You say you’re connected and in the conversation, well prove it.

No, the obvious NDA is the hammer.

I did yesterday after I got an answer.

So I choose a bad time to start playing on servers, and have had at least 50 disconnects over the last few weeks. (Over hundred plus hours). I don’t have anything new to add.

Disconnects are always triggered by aggro. It can’t be reliably prevented, nor reliably induced. People targeted by the purge seem to never make it through one without DCs. No boss or area will always trigger it. Sometimes aggro from a single wolf or boar will blow a fuse, sometimes aggro from 20+ mobs won’t, whether it’s spiders or skellies or humans. One disconnect is likely to be followed by several more. But there are no “bad days” or “good days”. Server population seems unrelated too.

The suits just need enough reason to allocate some manhours to bugfixing. It’s a new bug, which limits the possible culprits. Needs a server and a client running a debug build in a controlled environment. And hopefully someone familiar with the netcode.

CE players have fairly modest expectations. It’s just that Funcom is, and has been, uniquely apathetic with regard to game-breaking bugs. Anyhow, my two cents.

Ok some details that are consistent. Fighting a 1skull rocknose with dancer and horse. Everytime it does poison breath attack, I get booted

If it helps, i know one way to make it happen is to summon one of the large groups at summoning pools and enter combat. something about that many people in melee makes it happen.

Funcom should provide some sort of compensation to the players at this point. Its been three months and there are 0 improvements. At least Cyberpunk issued refunds for their blunder. You just keep charging us $

Since Chapter 3 launch the disconnect test for me is entering Frost Temple. Approaching the area “Connection lost” starts to occur. Going down the stairs and it happens constantly. Perhaps after killing the first four frost giants it gets slightly better, but i am not sure.

Playing on Oceania PVE #1951 all day yesterday and this is the number one issue being faced by players. DC mid combat, losing thralls, losing gear. Multiple players. Multiple situations but mostly seems to be when there’s a lot going on in the vicinity of the player. Me only once yesterday. But others were saying they’d DC’d dozens of times that day. Other long time players logging in, asking if the DC issue is still happening, being told yes, definitely, and logging out again saying “Will try again in couple of weeks.” Killing the game right now, not exaggerating.

You see, you have a lot of angry players here. Angry that the game they paid good money for is affected by a major game-breaking bug that keeps them from enjoying the game. Also angry by c clear lack of communication from the dev team who never once acknowledged the issue. Only very recently, through you, did we learn that they are looking for the cause of the problem while this issue has been going on since at least February.

Imagine if you bought a car and that the engine stopped working every 100 feet. You’d go to the dealer only to find it’s closed and that there’s no one inside except a phone on the ground. How angry would you be?

Because of this many players are leaving. I play on two official servers and only maintain a short presence once a week to avoid decay, and when I do log on I realize how many bases have vanished throughout the map.

So please understand our frustration.

Got a lot disconnects on official 1040 PvE-C, mainly in fights with many NPCs, like server can’t keep up calculating hits or smth. Four times in 15 mins in the Den and twice in Sepermeru this morning.

Tons of disconnects for 5 friends and me, on official servers, nothing on our side is about internet or pc hardwares issues. Fix this ■■■■■■■ mess cause people will quit if you dont. its impossible to play a zombie build or authority build since every time you disconnect you gotta relog and manually select all followers again, and they loose the HP too so you gotta wait for them to regain the boosted hp back EVERY TIME

I’m really surprised that there isn’t an official response to this issue yet.

I came mostly play single player, but decided to give one of the official servers a go (thinking they’d be more stable…) and bought the battle pass, only to find that I’m disconnected at least 50% of the time that I engage with 1 skull and higher mobs. I chatted with folks on my server and apparently this is happening to everyone. Nothing like this ever happened on single player.

For me, it never happens on single trash mobs like crocs and such, but it can happen on any boss fight and whenever I have multiple mobs engaged. There’s a spot in Siptah where I engage two gorillas, and I basically know I’ll be disconnected at least twice in the fight.

I see one moderator kicking it back to the community to provide more constructive information, but it’s unclear to me what’s needed to why how they possibly have trouble reproducing this with so many people running into the problem.

Really disappointed that I paid for the battle pass. I’ve heard about the poor support for the game, but never really ran into on single player.

If they’re having trouble reproducing this in-house on test systems, it would seem the logical thing to do would be to copy one of the databases from an official server to their test environment. Honestly, it would surprise me if they haven’t already tried that.

I wonder if it’s also one of those bugs that as soon as you go with a debug build that has additional instrumentation to try and catch what’s going on, the bug disappears. Back to a retail build, and the bug re-emerges. That can be one of the more annoying aspects of debugging code, when the tools you use to try and find the problem prevents it from happening or masks the cause.

Well I just lost my perfectly leveled horse during a purge due to CONSTANT disconnects during the last wave (when a large number of undead bosses came at once). Every time I would rejoin I would disconnect or not connect at all… I even tried restarting the game. Finally towards the end of the purge I was able to log in and see my dead horse. Crazy annoying…
