I read, that you can only rent dedicated console servers from GPortal and there is no way to setup an own console dedicated server on a pc. People say, it’s because crossplay isn’t implemented.
However - what are the GPortal servers running? I’m pretty sure they’re running common pc servers. So why does that not work on a private pc?

There used to be other hosts that provided Conan server rentals for consoles, I don’t know why it’s now only offered at Gportal.
Running a self hosted console server makes sense, it’s a reasonable suggestion.
Maybe crossplay is not an issue but, I wouldn’t be surprised that it could be a restriction from Sony or Microsoft.
