I honestly think they should have a live test server periodically that INCLUDES bazaar items. That way they can be tested before going live. Granted, I’m aware they can’t be tested on console and they could behave differently there, but at least the public would be testing some of it. Idk if they’re afraid of hackers using assets outside the test servers or what, but this is getting ridiculous. It’s not uncommon for bugs to be in the paid content. It’s gotten pathetic really… ESPECIALLY with the exorbitant prices that none of us should be paying anyway.
You can assume whatever you like.
My experience is different from yours.
I shared what I believe is happening. I apologize, if I hurt anyone’s feelings.
Ah, see that is where the issue stems from, and why @jmk1999 responded to you thusly, and rightly so. You claim here that you simply shared what you BELIEVE is happening. However, if you go back and read what you actually wrote, you wrote it in a way that you were declaring it as a statement of FACT, not belief. Thus, you were making an erroneous claim, one which is often made, and is unsubstantiated and cannot be proven with evidence.
Had you simply said in the first comment that you believe that this was what was happening then there would not have been any misunderstandings.
Didn’t hurt my feelings. I was calling out a BS statement as such so that people don’t confuse it with actual facts. The fact is, as I’ve proven by witnessing on multiple occasions, is the amount of Bazaar items one has purchased has jack to do with whether or not they get action taken against them by admin. The only thing that matters is if they’re in violation.
Yeah, that’s the problem. You stated it as fact based on your opinion and now want a free pass because it’s your opinion.
If those really are the rules under which you discuss, let me know, because I have an opinion on most things and will be happy to declare them as fact and then apologize for hurting your feelings.
As for your experience, pah.
I own all the DLC and it did not stop me from getting a ban based on updated ToS. So my direct experience, which I revealed, wins over your inference to something you want us to believe but refuse to state publicly.
I am sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Thats how it should be. Regardless if you spent money or not. Thats great you got banned owning dlc and bazzar stuff.
That proves I was wrong to make a statement as a claim, what I believed was happening.
Unfortunately I did see this happening and was feeling very confident to make a statement about admin look away if players been spending money in bazzar.
I thought about before I made statement as well and it felt logical that banning players who spend money will probably get them uspet and will not spend money anymore.
You can add me to the list and seeing clanmates get suspended/banned with BLB stuff.
The decision to push the button is not concerned with financial fealty.
I was suspended PRIOR to the Bazaar, but I owned every DLC to that point. Not exactly the same, but not exactly different either. It was pretty obvious I had everything and I likely would have bought more. I wish the admin saw that and felt the need not to suspend me and wipe my base. ![]()
Same for me specifically. All DLCs and used them.
For my friends it was literally buying everything from BLB and would be visible in our bases as well as their accounts.
When they lamented on something not working I gave them my opinion of course; why are they buying stuff that they should expect to be bugged? Or how about, don’t buy it again after your ban? Buys it anyway… Sigh.
lol… like the kid touching the frying pan. You know it’s stupid and it’s just gonna upset you, but you do it anyway. ![]()
it’s a headscratcher to me for sure.
like, not buying stuff is really easy. it takes extra steps to buy things. it takes no steps to not buy. i suppose some people more susceptible to wanting shiny things? i honestly don’t understand it.
i mean, if someone buys stuff from the bazaar because they like it, they get enjoyment out of it, all well and good for them. and customers certainly have the right to complain about subpar goods and services. but at a certain point, you just have to accept that McDonald’s chicken nuggets are not that good, but you still enjoy their cheesburgers. it’s fine to keep going, but to continue to buy the nuggets, knowing there will be feathers in the nuggets, just doesnt make sense to me.
I assure you I’ve bought plenty of nuggets and rarely had any issues. That metaphor is lost on me. ![]()
Anyway, I’m a sucker for anything piratey. Yeah… I bought the Barachan sets. I’m actually pretty happy with the pieces from the last one since they all have utility. Though that’s not usually the case with most decor.
I kind of think of it like this:
You get invited to ANOTHER fancy party. Your tux is still stained. Cocktail sauce all over the pants, on the lapel of the jacket. All up and down the front of the shirt.
You’re an embarassment. People start openly talking about you, and your cocktail sauce-stained tux. But… you still get to eat the fancy shrimp since you are at the party.
Trade the fancy shrimp for dollars, and the awfully stained tux as an untested and inferior product. The question really is this: Is Funcom even aware that the tux is badly stained? Are they so scattered that they don’t even realize it? Or - are they unable to find or afford a dry cleaning service? Or perhaps they simply don’t care.
But they gon keep eating our fancy shrimp. As long as we keep inviting them.

You paid only almost 30 bucks for those handful of cosmetics. How dare you expect them to actually work! ![]()
Blockquote:100: this is sadly the right way to approach this “buyer be ware” cash grab shop which has proven from day one to be highly untrustworthy. I am highly sympathetic to you however and I am sorry that you have had to deal with such a bad experience to learn this lesson.
The sad thing is I do not think that they will even offer a refund on this purchase, though I suppose you can attempt to ask for one via zendesk? Though you may wish to wait and “hope” that they actually fix these items, though I personally would not hold my breath.
I’ve always said I’ll support a game I play and enjoy. After all, if I want the game to continue that seems a reasonable expectation. And I’ve always felt cosmetic cash shops are a reasonable way for companies to continue to gain revenue from a game that’s past its prime/shiny new and exciting stage. When the cash shop is NOT predatory. Selling overpriced broken items that will never be fixed is EXACTLY that. Predatory. It’s bad faith and abuse of the very people they depend upon to make their product successful. But apparently things have fallen so low that they don’t even care. So yeah, I’m done. Unless I KNOW something I like has been tested by an outside third party and been shown to work as intended… I’ll be putting my money towards things I enjoy more.
I have no problem with that.
In game cash shops on the other hand I personally have never seen as anything other than predatory and as a “cash grab for the greedy”.
But this is Funcom, and this is Conan Exiles. And if you know anything about the history of the two you would know that Funcom was quite literally about to lock the door for good if not for those of us who purchased Conan Exiles in early access in large enough numbers that we saved their @$$es from going out of business. And when they put out their DLC, the majority of us ran right out and supported them and bought them all up.
The BLB on the other hand is something completely and utterly different. From day one it was proven to be a predatory cash grab and very quickly the cracks became apparent with the broken promises of “never selling power, only cosmetics” which then became “often selling power and occasionally and arbitrarily nerfing said power (but only after it rotates out of the shop so we can get as many sales as possible) or maybe not even nerfing it at all”. And on top of that you have the “more often than not selling broken (bugged) items with no refund”.
So I completely agree with you on this point as well:
It is also extraordinarily repulsive towards those of us who they owe their very existence to. But they have shown that they truly do not care about that at all so… ![]()
As you have pointed out in a number of threads, there are many mods which have higher quality items available (and vastly more items for one single download as well). How often do you run into mod done by a known mod author with objects that are as bugged as the items that Funcom sells in the BLB? I personally cannot recall any. Just thinking of mods like Savage Steel which has TONS of placable objects I cannot recall any that were bugged. So imo, I’d rather give those mod authors a tip than spend money in the BLB.
