Oh hey, Arcanist is back.
Thatās what I was taking as well. Rolling Thrust nerf is affecting their game play as a corrupted knight. The corrupted knight builds I do are S20c20,V20c19,G20 and use predatory weapons since light attacks use less stamina. Depending on armor, you can have a still decent build (stygian commander can get you an extra 140 HP and 60 Stamina so that even full corruption would be 370 hp / 120 stam).
Yeah I noticed that too. And I am sure we all missed him terribly.
Thats not bad at all! I might try something like this post-update. I like the benefits of a low health pool but given these coming changes I might reconsider something like this. Thanks for the suggestion!
still sloghtlu off. When you get corruption currently, on you hud is a corruption stats, lighyćheavy. Since there is a trigger in the code to show this, the satmina used can be modifed by injectung it intonthe atam usage of an action
Meaning it can help alieviate the loss of stam some, and leave the health alone. So you would show 50% hp and stam, but for stam used it would decrease the effect slightly.
Heās been around the forums for a while or something? Iām not on the forums frequently but I recognize your username from seeing it elsewhere. Iām making an assumption here, but it seems you would know better than myself.
I see. Seems it might take some getting used to but maybe something like this could work. I feel itās something Iād have to see in action. I definitely donāt want all Corruption builds to be overpowered either, just not shafted completely by this change. Your idea could be great Iām just personally failing to fully grasp the concept and all repercussions that could come from it haha.
Iām not naive enough thinking making suggestions here matter, but just for fun, hereās an idea for a solution:
Imagine integrating the religion system more actively into our gameplay. What if, at level 60, the deity we aligned with could unlock unique perks tied to that religion? These perks could vary based on the chosen deity, echoing their lore and themes. For example, deities aligned with sorcery in the lore, like Set, could offer bonuses that assist corruption builds, particularly in areas like stamina management. Meanwhile, gods unrelated to sorcery could enhance non-corruption builds.
To unlock and maintain these divine perks, they could set it up so weād need to gather more Manifestations of Zeal. This system would encourage deeper engagement with the religious aspects of the game and provide some endgame content, something the game sorely lacks. It would be boring farming, but still, something at least, and using the system that already exists through farming zeal would make it easy to implement; more fun but harder to implement would be something like quests to change religions etc. This system also could add a layer of strategy to our builds, pushing us to think about how our religious choices impact our playstyle.
A simpler, more boring solution, could be specialized armor sets that are available based on your level of corruption. These could offer bonuses or mitigate some of the drawbacks of being corrupted, directly addressing issues like the one being discussed here coming in chapter 4.
Adding grit corruption perks could be an easy and viable solution too as a few others have mentioned.
Regardless, some perk reworks are probably in order though, like Rolling Thrust for example. Itās chapter 4 state seems underwhelming especially compared to some of the other 20 tier perks. It needs more than just a 25% armor penetration bonus to be compelling, especially since many if not most pvpers tend to wear light armor anyway, I mean I guess Iāll still keep rolling thrust active for when I go up against people in heavy, since they tend to be some of the most challenging fights for me anyway, but still, it feels really underwhelming. Itās likely they made the choice to nerf rolling thrust to both accommodate people that complain about too much dodging in PvP, as well as make double jump feel like a more viable choice. This situation highlights a broader issue in the gameās design: utility features competing with combat bonuses. I firmly believe these aspects should be separate. For example, obtaining the double jump should be an independent choice, perhaps through a system similar to the one I mentioned above, not something that forces players to sacrifice other valuable perks.
First of all itās time to touch grass and RP time played doesnāt qualify as experience. Also I expect a 3700hrs players to know that Jhil and sigils are siptah exclusive items.
Thereās no point in talking with Arcanistās alt.
Dude vehemently tries to protect the current corrupted build balance but the moment you check his videos youāll see his rolls donāt take any stamina despite being % based, and weapons take no stamina and enemies deal close to zero damage.
The Current system is fine and dandy for him because he cheated the server settings to remove every inconvenience of the corrupted build.
Interestingā¦ Do you mean to tell me that this guy was cheatingā¦ after claiming that he wasnāt!?
Lol I did notice that when he was climbing he drained literally no stamina but I figured that maybe that was an effect of the Gloves of Jhil. I havenāt used them in a while so I guess I was open to be proven wrong that way haha. I noticed inconsistencies but he made it blatantly obvious that he was using some sort of admin advantages anyways so I found him untrustworthy from the beginning. Thanks for the heads up!
Iāll continue to not take him seriously.
This isā¦ Pathetic. Cool showcase of the sorcery strength ability I suppose, but the video is ultimately a showing of complete dishonesty.
What is the story behind this Arcanist guy using alts? He seems to have a reputation on the forums.
@OmniHeckinInu excellent analysys of the implications of the recent nerf to Rolling Thrust perk in what is an extremely interesting albeit very niche build. I had never seen or even considered your build. Sorcery isnāt my thing on Conan, but I will most definitely try it.
@stelagel , take a look at the build this guy came up with. Look closely. How cool is that? This is the best use of Sorcery as a fighter Iāve ever seen. You really devised a glass cannon, @OmniHeckinInu .
Who knowsā¦ your build is so original that it might be just what it takes to pique the attention of Funcom devs.
Btw, if you donāt mind my suggestion, donāt lose a second debating with that guy. He was no clue about anything.
I really appreciate that you found some value in at least the idea of the build. More people scoff at Corruption but Iāve been trying to keep it more than relevant and dangerous to be sure. I hope to, no matter how this update goes, continue to fight my fight haha. Theory-crafting can take you far but there are some limitations of course.
Also, Iāll be honest, I donāt know exactly how these forums work, but I was just gaming the guy. Every response I made was genuine and thought out, sure. But even if his were mostly empty and useless, I see it this way:
The more comments, the more eyes. The more eyes the more mouths. If people talk enough, maybe I can actually make a change. I of course have my doubt but why not give it a go, right?
I will take one more honest jab, though. A friend sent me this nugget. Guess you really are all about you, huh, @IOOI ?
Itās a small image but I feel like it really paints a bigger picture.
Do you want the long or short story behind it?
Basically, heās a bad dude and not the most mentally stable. Itās only a matter of time before this account goes nuclear and writes another essay about transvestites again.
In regards to his playstyle, he plays exclusively with admin mode on (usually on his metaverse style pay-to-play private server that heavily violates the game EULA), granting him infinite stamina and carry weight as weāve already seen shown off. Him commenting on the stamina usage when not using stamina is like someone critiquing the difficulty when they set their damage multiplier to 10x.
In itās current state, corrupted builds are just terrible for ānormalā players.
None of that was the happy ending I was silently hoping for.
Regarding the topic of Corruption, though, I am hopeful that enough people will take time to adjust to the change for me to pick up how to beat them in my Build from the update and onward. I do well right now. Weāll see how it goes.
Every player creates a build thatās the best for his playstyle and needs. It seems that @OmniHeckinInu has find it and enjoy the hell of it, congratulations! I couldnāt read everything yet, i am in the process.
Sorcery hides secrets, many! We cannot learn something just by touching it, it needs full immersion!
