Corrupted Fighter Builds are Dead in AoW Chapter 4

,

You are broken…
And just showed us that we were correct of everything we accused you of.
4x Player Damage
70% Damage to Player
10% Stamina cost (shocker)

Next time if you’re going to make a stance on in-game balancing set everything to official server standards so the playing ground is level.

You get no long drawn out response this time. GG

Many have only pointed out what you just showed us in your own proof. You’re being honest by showing us that you changed the server settings.

You would agree to that you changed the settings, right? If you don’t respond to that question directly I will consider that we’ve been correct. If you respond honestly I’ll believe you.

An actual nuclear blast.

Dude, you can’t evaluate stamina consumption in the game with a settings tweak such as yours. Or player dmg, enemy dmg, etc. Your multipliers give you an insanely different experience when playing.

You play in your private setting however you see fit. That’s up to you. But when we talk about the game’s parameters we mean official settings.
What @OmniHeckinInu was talking about was the impact of rolling thrust’s nerf on his playstyle, under official settings.
You have nothing meaningful to contribute to this conversation if you use your personal settings as a reference. Stop writing nonsense and use your head.

I’ve been enlightened.

Please stop posting.

At this point I think it’s clear IOOI/Arcanist is a professional forum troll.

Nah, he’s not.
Just a shizoid.

Which, in its turn, has no relevance whatsoever for this conversation, @IOOI .

Let me give you another example. Imagine we are talking about thrall balance. Then someone comes and says thralls are insanely strong and can solo all content, because his arena champion, that he spawns on his Single Player adventures, zeroes everything on her path. So thralls must be nerfed. Would this make any sense? Of course not. It’s something you can only have in a private setting (although there’s an exploit that allows you to have her on official servers, hopefully corrected already).

Well, it’s the same as someone using a 0.1 multiplier applied to stamina usage saying we have more than enough stamina in the game for corrupted fighter playstyles, when under official settings that multiplier is set 10x above.
You can’t change the multipliers on official servers settings. They are fixed. And this whole conversation assumes those parameters set to the values used on officials, even if you play on SP or in a private server.

Want to know how it is? Go to settings, reset them to default and play with your build. Then, talk about stamina from a valid perspective. Because right now, you basically are commenting on stamina usage while playing with what amounts to having it set to infinity.

Remember when you said this?

Haha but still it feels fitting to respond thoughtfully. You might not change this guy’s mind, but maybe somebody will see the light.

Yes and no. Unfortunately if a player has the tool crafted through a now-patched exploit, they can still knock these thralls. The Commander at the new PvE raid (with a ranged multiplier of 12.X, mind you), can also be taken. If you see either or these thralls on officials, pull out the camera to do some cleaning.

The internet is like a mirror.

Just as one might look into a mirror to examine one’s face, the internet shows us our thoughts, desires, delusions.

Like a mirror, the internet is without mercy.

A human looking at a loved one can choose to overlook all the small imperfections, to value emotion more than pure appearances.

A mirror has no such compassion. It is honest, merciless, brutal.

The internet, too, shows us a brutal, honest picture of how limited, how arrogant, how delusional we, meaning humanity as a whole, are.

In this case, it shows us that a supposedly adult person with the right to speak, vote, procreate can choose to believe to be smarter, more talented than everybody else. How a person can choose to pick an already fantastic, wish-fullfilling dream world and custom-tailor it to his own inner desires, and then believe this to be reality, and argue about that on the internet, showing his delusional state to everybody without any apparent consciousness about how others will see him and his thoughts.

Humanity has achieved so many great things. But it can also sink so low.

Sadly, the world seems to be in the hands of those who chose delusion over reality.

We, fellow humans, are lost.

There were things I didn’t know back then. He may have some condition and I’m taking that in consideration, trying to explain him we aren’t ill willed. This conversation assumes official settings. Other settings aren’t relevant.

A problem that needs solving. Pvp servers could use a wipe. On pve, it’s not that big of a problem. Let them have their super thralls if it makes them happy…

Good point. I have been thinking that as well, and since I, yourself, and some others have pointed out the flaws in his logic in careful and/or blunt ways, I decided that the full explanation might no longer help. One way or another I think he’s actually enjoying the way he plays.

After all, whatever the game and however it plays I don’t think that enjoying your own customized version of it can be a bad thing. The hyperbolized, misled, and strong opinions on balance are definitely wonky, but with any luck I think most people are/will be perceptive to that.

Pretty deep for the Conan forums but this is all pretty accurate to what was seen here so I suppose it fits, really.

Hum… you know… both nature and society have their ways to find balance.
There’s only so much we can FA until we FO.
Unfortunately, sometimes these periods take more than the span of a human life.
Do you know what I find most appeasing when facing the things we see? The smaller things, the closer context. Making sure we keep our own head clean. Checking our own motivations and constantly questioning our own assumptions and judgments. Correct and learn when necessary and always avoid ill will. Act in good faith, without malice, even if our deeds are not always guided by the most informed rationale grounded in a well developed intuition. Treat other people fairly. We aren’t born evil. We just get so screwed up along the way that we lose perspective and cut ties with ourselves and what moves us from the depths of our beings, landing in trivial and superficial places from where we poorly try to steer our lives. Nobody happy likes to make other people miserable. Miserable people breed it around them. In one way or another, there’s always a part of it that comes out of ignorance, not of the lacking knowledge type, but if a more fundamental nature that blinds us to our deeper psychological realities.
Sometimes, and I risk saying often, a slight adjustment in our way of seeing and dealing with other people has a deep impact on our surroundings. Almost every bad situation can be improved to some extent. It starts with empathy and with the knowledge that almost everyone just wants to live a satisfying and pleasant life, but got lost along the way or never learned any way, although there are many. Even the worst forms of aggression come from that desire to regain mental balance, to remove something that we ultimately believe to be responsible for our personal misery or discomfort. They are mislead, their consequences will actually achieve the opposite, but the initial impulse is always lead by the belief that the outcome will be better. It’s that belief that needs checking. It’s that impulse that is still fair and wholesome, because we all deserve peace. Which actions and the rationale behind them lead us to a better place and what exactly is a better place psychologically speaking is a very badly treated subject nowadays.
One of the worst problems plaguing our civilization and its societies is that not enough attention is given to such matters and, when it is, it’s mostly ideologically driven, steam rolling over the very important subjectivity that permeates the inner life of each individual.
Wisdom is contagious, but so is foolishness. We need to be mindful when choosing which one we’re cultivating around us.
However, this is neither the topic nor the forum to address these issues properly.

Your gameplay is real. Your settings are modified. It’s not about you lying. It’s not about proving you wrong. We are not lying, but we are saying that the experience on your server differs greatly from any other player’s on several levels.

You’re actually saying that you enjoy talking about other people peoples’ experiences without an inkling of an idea what those experiences are right here. Really think about that.

It was fun proving that your settings were different from other players in the beginning before you revealed it yourself, and to be clear you were not at all trying to be transparent at that time. Still, each post you’re making here has less meaning and less comedic value as well upon disproving.

Consider yourself and your own gameplay Godlike. I don’t care. Say that I hate your immense power and deeply compounded knowledge and “skill as a sorcerer/gamer” and bathe in it or whatever. Your persistence to being inaccurate in terms of this topic, though, are worth noting. Enjoy your gameplay but stop comparing it to something it has the thinnest strip of a relation to.
