We got the black hand tents that are made from sails yea, but it’d be really cool to have actual sails. Or at least some hanging banners or something that don’t need to have all points connect to a wall. Something that can dangle from the bottom of a ceiling and actually flow. Or even the ability to attach the black hand tents to pillars since they already exist in the game.
Also being able to dye said sails, even carpets flags, banners, any cloth decor, would be awesome!
At least have the masts have the horisontal poles to wrap some sails around them. Since the ships are anchored, open sails would be problematic.

If I remember correctly, sails are usually raised to help manage ship’s velocity in a decreasing manner. Managing velocity helps to anchor the ship in place without channeling unnecessary force to the anchor, the chain and the restraint point (anchor wheel or whatever is utilised). This helps to keep the sails intact as well so wrapping them ensures that less upkeep is needed. Leaving sails open under the hot sun isn’t good for the sails, I wager. I have managed a trawler only so I’m not entirely familiar with ships with actual sails.

This is partly correct. Mostly the main sails are raised and the smaller sails are used to steady the velocity which are finally stowed after the anchor has been made.

PC port … look at mods… ive personally helped in letting a ship placeble to be on water.
