Attacks seem to do less damage against knocked out enemies for some reason. It would make sense if an insane damage multiplier like 5 or 10x was added to knocked out enemies to make it easier to dispose of them so you can get their loots. I mean its not unbalanced, it just saves you time and weapon condition(and sanity).
I dreamed of some sort of assassination dagger that would instantly kill an unconscious body, but a damage multiplier as you suggest would probably work better, so I agree with this.
Adding this as a slider to the server settings would be good too.
While it annoys me having to hit a downed NPC 20x to kill them, I’m not wild about a damage multiplier for this. It would make it too easy to accidentally kill thralls we KO during a purge or when we get attacked while dragging one.
What I’d prefer is if we could long-press E on one, select Coup de Grace, and have our character execute a weapon-appropriate fatal blow. I’d also be fine with hitting a downed NPC with a religious item to perform the coup de grace function.
I was thinking the same thing after posting. Maybe use the slicing animation from the skinning knife for it?
Yeah, sitting there for several minutes trying to dispatch an unconscious enemy is just…well, a dumb and irritating mechanic. I can do more damage to a live, fighting NPC than to a helpless unconscious one, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Interestingly enough though, if you watch the consciousness bar while you do it, it goes up and up. I guess chopping up an unconscious NPC wakes them up slowly? You can drive the bar back down by hitting the knocked out thrall with the truncheon.
But yeah, the almost non damage to an unconscious NPC needs to be fixed.
