Since it’s obvious at this point that you won’t make the gameplay interesting anymore could you at least make the inventory and build systems a bit easier to use? After all this is but a building simulator these days.
First of all fix the Aesir and Dungeon sets but one thing that would make building a lot easier is to highlight the arrow in the pieces. You very often can’t see it properly because it’s dark or it’s against a dark background.
And the inventories, you revamped the system which was pointless except for the quick move feature or what ever it’s called when you press L2 to move only the stuff from your pockets that are already in the target inventory. That’s great. But to have the option to show only items you can craft with the materials that are in the workbench inventory would be amazing. Can’t be that hard to do, right?
But in particular…
When has that had any demonstrable utility in this game? Rude or refined, feedback that doesn’t match already decided upon agendas is generally ignored.
Further, in business, sadly, it is not consumer decorum, but customer outrage that gets results.
Even then, that outrage needs to be directed in such a way that it harms the bottom line or causes some suit to worry about optics.
Polite requests and concern points have their sincerity immediately questioned. If there was a real issue, one wouldn’t be so subdued about it, or some other such dreck.
To be honest, we have no hard data on how Funcom makes their design decisions. We know (or at least Funcom have said so) that they do pick suggestions and ideas from the forums.
If they do, which is more likely to get picked? A good idea presented politely, or the same good idea that insults the developers as a bonus? If I was the community manager going through the forums, I certainly would not want to reward rude behavior.
If this one were the community manager working for Funcom, this one would resign to preserve dignity, or demand enough compensation to remain in a coke fueled frenzy for the rest of this one’s days.
This one does not trust the veracity of claims that Forum feedback is a contributing factor to development, or rather, if it was, and it quite possibly was, until they created their curated feedback group, then at least it has gone extinct since the Age of Tencent.
Especially when the more realistic situation is the one explicitly noted. When it is proudly stated on the Devstream that no one asked for these changes, when rolling out the atrocities in the later Age of War.
I like the game. I like the fuel. Someone wants a shield. Many times the npcs run into a net. They can use shields. Ya, there is work to do to level npcs to 20.
I like to see Conan play on the Meta Horizon. This game finally updated here. I could jump in and make a difference in the new code for those quick moves. It’ll be studied, however.
