have you ever actually looked at the armor ratings of most PVE enemies? The only boss I ever found where armor pen made any sense over raw dmg is the arena champion.
And why compare specifically those 2 unrelated weapons?
At least compare Dead Leg with another 2h Hammer…like Hanuman’s Gada.
There are a dozen better legendary 2h Maces in the game, all vastly superiour to Dead Leg. It is not just a difference of 10 to 15% less dmg, since without a bladesmith, which is one of the rarest thrall to get for some reason, you are looking at a 20% inferiour weapon. That is basically a whole tier lower.
“He is trolling” is a non argument. Already doing a whole favor acknowledge it was made, a favor I will never do again thanks to ignore.
Every enemy has an armor. The fact that you never took it into consideration does not mean it isnt to be considered.
Anyway, if a weapon is a 2h hammer or a 1h sword in this game is a matter of calculating the base difference which is in other games denoted by speed brackets. In this game they use stamina and the animation speed to determine how many and at what rate you can use them to do damage.
If you know how to count, you can compare any weapon with any weapon.
It is really strange having to tell it, but it is like comparing the speed of an animal on foot to a speed of a car stating you cant outrun it, and you answer “at least compare a car to a car”.
Making a point of removing information until it proves your point is not an argument. But to my part, this one is done.
well, yes but mostly no, unless you count 70 to 160 armor as “a lot of armor”. Only one humanoid NPC actually has armor to consider: Arena Champion with 18k armor.
In other words, outside of PVP and some very specific NPCs, armor pen is a worthless stat.
Besides that, if you had compared Dead Leg to one of the better 2h maces in the game, you’d have seen that crafted weapons are not even remotely comparable right now to these legendary drops. When Hanuman’s Gada has 33 more dmg on base attacks than Dead Leg (crafted with a bladesmith even) your argument, that crafted weapons are among the strongest weapons in the game can only be considered trolling.
Also, the fact that you even consider 2h maces and the Predatory Blade to be “strongest” weapons in this game is subjective at best. But I guess when you have “Hammer” in the name, there might be a slight affinity towards hammers.
Predatory blade is a role play weapon, with divine worship from players but an absolute horsesh1t.
Thanks anyway for the effort. I do see why you say what you say, but i believe that you have to go naked and alone in this map to understand the value even your fists have.
Pve does need armor pen in times, especially when the weapons you play are weak. For example if you go to a rocknose with a Darfari axe it will take you really long to kill it instead of going with a stone mace or Darfari mace that will fall really fast.
Sword lights are all staggering indeed, so predatory blade could be valued as a good weapon, yet predatory blade is good only for 2 options if you’re really interested.
1st. Full encumbrance builds. All a player needs is to place just a perk on strength, or buffs on strength will work just fine. The player will be effective as long as the agro in on thrall. The player can go from behind and apply a really good portion of damage.
2nd. Shield and sword build.
If you hold a shield you allow the opponent to come close, enough for light attack range. This build can work both in pve and pvp successfully, as long as your opponents are in small numbers.
A shield and sword build is generally defensive, so it would be best to be used with heavy armor as well.
The best fighter in this game will always definitely wear light armors and melt literally every opponent from pve to pvp. The best fighter ignores shield and mandatory on combo.
The games best combo applied mostly on the most lethal weapons now the game has is 3 lights last heavy.
The most lethal weapons right now is Musashi, Thag scythe and momentum.
Thag scythe is not a 3 light last heavy combo weapon, is two heavy dodge, so it’s best not to use combo master when playing this weapon but second skin and crushing swings.
My friend…
Take these weapons…
Wear light armor…
And slay the whole lands literally alone, even a lvl 10 purge.
Have fun and thanks a million for your reply.
I don’t quite agree with the author. If there is a bladesmith, then it is better to give your well-leveled fighters (thralls) maces made by the bladesmith from star metal than any legendary weapon other than maces.
I recently discovered a very interesting weapon, a katana called the Curved Slayer. This blade is quite a bit weaker than Musashi, but, unlike it, it has the Executioner effect. I’ll assume that it’s no worse than Musashi.
You forget dagger or claw q lock spam that is very strong atm.
Also, one of the legendary katana can take poison unlike musashi.
Also, what is best depends on what you are facing in pvp.
Some weapon hardcounter others. Gotta keep a few options on hand.
In my current game, I got my first thralls at level 12, bladesmith at level 14, and legendaries much later… and I’ve had all the thralls go through all the weapon cycles.
It was a Siptah exclusive for awhile (it only dropped on Siptah, not that you had to own the Siptah dlc to spawn it).
This one personally finds it somewhat useful, and it is a go to for agility builds that prefer AoE to the single target damage of Gatorbite. but Execution has proven an unreliable trait during several updates.
The Blackblade also inflicts cripple, for what it’s worth.
The nitty gritty, assuming execution operates during any given build, is if it will trigger with enough of a margin to reduce the number of attacks needed to kill an enemy as opposed to higher raw damage of the Blackblade. Which means it is usually only advantageous against bosses.
Has anyone checked to see if it works on the Sacred Hunt monsters?
