Greetings @devilseyes21 ,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Could you share some additional information?

  • Which Xbox model do you have?

  • Do you have your game installed on an SSD or HDD?

  • Is the console stable while playing other demanding games?

In the meantime, here are some steps that might help you. Please ensure that your save is stored on the XBOX cloud before trying each of the following:

  • Reset the console cache by holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the console powers off, then disconnect it from the power outlet for a couple of minutes, then try loading it into your SP session.

  • Try to perform a soft factory reset while keeping games and apps.

  • If the above procedures don’t help, please try to perform a full reinstall of the game.

We await your reply.

Never had a problem with any other game including much newer games/other high demand games

Tried the reset already.

It was working up until about a week ago. Before then, sometimes not everything would render, or textures would be blurry etc, but it was still playable. Now it just crashes to dashboard

So ive tried resetting, reinstalling and nothing works. It just crashes near the black galleon, and actually the crashes in other parts doing anything seem to be getting worse. Im guessing its because they keep adding stuff and xbox one is getting too outdated to keep up (not my individual machine, but the console in general…im able to play other games no problem). If this is the case they should offer to let people port their account over to pc with dlcs purchased, bazaar items, battlepass unlocks etc. since the game just doesnt work on the console they are selling it for.

If this already exists that would be great if someone could tell me how. If not, well it seems kind of fraudulent to offer a product for a machine that it is clearly incompatible with.

They would end up making more in the long run anyway if they offer this. If i can port everything over, they could retain players who buy dlcs/battlepass/bazaar…if not then likely many will be cutting their losses and just quitting altogether.

So now after multiple attempts at uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting to clear cache, etc.

The game just isnt playable at all anymore, even in locations where i didn’t previously have issues the game is crashing to dashboard after about 5 or 10 minutes.

Is there some planned fix to help with the xbox one console version or are they just giving up on it? If theres some kind of fix coming, ok, but if they’ve just given up then like i said i should be able to port my stuff to a different machine. It doesnt seem right to continue to sell this and dlc, etc. on a machines that it no longer works for. Please give me an update on this.

The game is completely unplayable at this point. Crashing every 5 to 10 minutes. Especially when walking around in poplated areas and in combat (so black galleon, mounds of dead, etc.)

Tried the resets of the console, clearing the cache, reinstalling…basically all the expected solutions. It’s been over a week and i havent been able to get into the game. Is there some kind of fix planned? What is going on? Is there somewhere else to contact to find out when they plan on fixing this?

Greetings @devilseyes21 ,

Do you find this behavior on Official servers as well or only in Single-Player?

If only in Single-Player can you try to back up your saved game and start a new save to see if its an issue on the saved game only?

Thank you in advance!

I only play on single player. How do start a new single player game without overwriting my current save on xbox? I was looking it up and it sounded like that was only possible on pc.

The older systems have a hard time running the game in official non the less singleplayer. In single player the load of the server is on your xbox, which can cause overheating, and overall damage to your system.

Unfortunately, support for this older xboxs lessens every day for all games across the board, so I suggest upgrading when avaliable . You wont regret it.

Secondly, if you enter the options menu from the main menu, you have access to the graphics options and such. Switch to performance , save then restart your game.

I get that, but since they are still offering it for sale on the older system it should work for it, or at the very least since i bought and unlocked a bunch of stuff with battlepasses i should be able to transfer what i have to a machine they do support the game on (such as porting my stuff over to pc).

The solution shouldnt be that since i bought it for a machine they dont wish to support anymore (but are still selling it for), i have to just buy a new console.if they are going to keep making updates that make it unplayable on the device they sell it for, i should at least be able to move it to my pc instead.

Thank you for your reply devilseyes21 and our apologies for the delay!

In that case, would it be possible for you to enter an Official Server and go to that location to see if, by going there, your game will crash as well?

We’ll be waiting for your reply!

I dont like multiplayer games, so i just play in solo (though if it did work on official servers i dont understand how that would fix the issue im encountering?)

It started out just crashing at this location, but now it crashes anywhere with multiple npcs, if i open my inventory too quickly after checking a thralls inventory (or vice versa), changing menus (like switching between inventory/map/bazaar/etc). Basically doing anything other than standing still in a low population area crashes the game.

Greetings Exile,

Thank you for your patience while we try to assist you.

Joining an Official server might help your console grab some files that might be missing to improve your experience in Singleplayer. You just need to finish creating a character and skip the cutscene. Once you’re in and able to move your character, feel free to leave the session and return to Singleplayer.

If you’re unable to join an Official server, it would also indicate your game is not up to date with the latest available version. Which could also lead to the issues you’re facing.

We hope this helps, and if it doesn’t we’ll keep trying!

That’s exactly my experience many years ago. My single player session was crushing constantly. When i started playing on official servers my single player was better and finally fixed.
The funny thing is that all these years i couldn’t understand why until now, thanks a million @Caroll

Went on official. Created character ran around and got to the river. Made some clothes and weapons, fought some stuff. Did the things that usually make it crash like flipping menus quickly, combat, etc. All good.

Left the official server game ane popped back into single player. Walked around my base a bit, opened my inventory, and crash.

Thank you for your reply devilseyes21!

In that case, it is possible for the issue to be related with your saved game.
If the issue keeps happening by performing the same actions or in one specific location, would it be possible for you to create a new saved game and see if the issue persists?

We’ll be waiting for your reply!

The only option at this point is to delete my save and start over?

Greetings,

It is possible that your building is causing the crashes.

Can you share with us how old the current save you’re playing is, and can you give us an estimate on how much you’ve built so far?
