Crom heard our not prayers, here comes expansion

,

I began saving money for it from the very moment I’ve heard about a new map coming

“Shut up and take my money Funcom!!!” :money_with_wings:

Why not? Just look at modding community - they develop dungeons and there are at least two new maps/large fragments of a map as far as I know. Modders are doing this free of charge, after earning money for their living, and Funcom gamedevs just do this as their main job for salary.

Yeah, but that’s clearly referring to the original game experience. Mostly I’m just cynical and maybe engaging in some low grade trolling.

That being said, I really really don’t understand how funcom can put together something as complicated as an entire map when they seem to have difficulty managing the game they have.

That leads me to believe that whatever this dlc is, it will be smaller in scope than the current game in some sense.

Re-installed CE a couple days ago just to check how things are going. And i’m not amused, so how about FC first you fix the game make combat better and then maybe make an expansion.

Meanwhile simps be like: YAAAAAAAS EXPANSIOOOOOOOOON.

Well here is your reason why there are no fixes.

Which sandstorms? The ones you can see or the ones that you can’t see?

Obviously, the ones that have the enormous amount of bloom that do no damage.

Or maybe the ones from a year ago that followed the correct path across the desert and didn’t blow into the spawn points.

I would LOVE to see a map expansion with brutal sandstorms and beasts in them.

No mang, this is not enough fixing. Those various fixes this update and the last ones before are indeed welcome BUT they are a insignificant amount, especially to some one who has taken a big break from the game.

Content is lacking combat is still terrible. Making excuses and keep patting them on the back for the slow progress during the 3 year life span of the game since EA is why the game is in such a situation. Looking in the forum and the plethora of people that have still have issues since EA just speaks for it’s self.

I hope they add some additions to the combat in this expansions like a talent tree with some abilities, just something to spice up the very repetative combos we got now.

Lol, Funcom already flagging any negative posts regarding upcoming expansion, that alone tells me it will be a broken mess and they already know it.

FC didn’t flaged my comment, it was “the community” meaning, a player :^)
I don’t know why did they flaged it, lol, if something i was just saying i was hyped about the upcoming news and that i have high hopes for some changes in the game.

Its because you said maybe without meaning to that the expansion will come with many more bugs. If you think it isn’t funcom simply flag a comment that says something positive about them and see what happens, or rather what doesn’t happen.:zipper_mouth_face:

Both sound good to me. The religion system was always one of my favourite features of Conan Exiles. Although Funcom previously said there would be no new religions, if they were going to then the Map expansion would be the perfect opportunity to make it happen.

In the past I was always kind of ‘meh’ towards the prospect of adding Sorcery; if it happens it happens, if it doesnt it doesnt. But I have been coming around as of late. I feel that that the uncovered trophy/achievement relating to Stacking Sigils is a strong indicator that at least some level of sorcery coming to the game.

I am so darn excited for this! I have 2 items on my personal wishlist:

  • The Mummy of the Ring
  • A Crom Purge, I mean…‘Surge’

because ppls lil delicate sensitivities are nerfed…well not everyone, firesharts hot pepper bawtplug calls for exception. ;]

Or maybe because this forum has a few bad apples who abuse the flagging system :man_shrugging:

Come on, you make it sound like everybody is not using Windows to this day, one of the biggest collection of bugs by software square bit ever know to men.

I think it has a small chance of not actually being a new map, but some small region adition to the existing one and a new game mechanic that maybe will be added to the base game, like a new buffed purge, but another part being expansion only, like sorcery.

You know those YouTube videos of real doctors watching “House MD” episodes? That’s what these forums are like sometimes…

Solarius, you’re complaining about lacking content in ther same thread where you’re demandng Funcom to stop making new content until they’ve fixed the bugs. Please make up your mind.

Bugs are annoying, yes. Funcom is constantly working on fixing the game-breaking ones while leaving the minor ones be because they don’t have the unlimited resources to fix everything.

In the meantime, many of us who don’t suffer from game-breaking bugs want something new to play. After several thousand hours of play, we’ve seen everything the game has to offer, and it can get repetitive and stale. New content keeps these players playing, and brings in more money for the company, so they can keep the lights on for the bug-fixers.

Very few game companies are able to keep updating and patching their game for years after release without also releasing paid DLCs. Money needs to come from somewhere, and I’m probably not alone for not wanting to pay a monthly subscription.

You misunderstand. I will put it simple for you to understand.

Bug fixing and gameplay UI improvement should be a top priority. Afther the game is fixed and has only minor bugs the i am all down for new Dlcs.

If you are ok with the current state of the game to me it seems you are ok with all the bugs and crashes and everything negative in the game.

You have to realise that this is bad for the game its bad PR announcing Expansions when the game has still many issues. Patting them on the back can be ok but you must also make sure that they must also prioritize the base game the heart of the game.

It can take months to fix even the most critical bugs. Fixing every minor annoyance people have been complaining about (such as the flying rhinos) would take years. How do you propose Funcom funds its operations during those years?

I’m okay with the current state because I, personally, am not really impacted by most bugs. The ones I still see are very minor and don’t really ruin my enjoyment. (The only thing I wish would work more reliably is the Purge, but even that is optional.) This does not mean I don’t want the bugs to be fixed - that would be silly - but I also understand the reality of the world we live in. Game companies need money to stay active. Bug fixing alone does not produce money.

It may be bad PR to release new content while the game has flaws, but it would be suicidal not to release new expansions. New content is how you keep players interested. It has been so long since the last content update that most players will have seen it all by now. Even if the game worked perfectly now, many people would wander off to play something else because the game doesn’t offer anything new to them. It’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation for Funcom, except one alternative brings money and the other doesn’t, so the choice is kinda made for them.

This isn’t about what I want or what I’m okay with. This is about what Funcom has to do in order to survive (and hopefully, in the future, prosper).
