What this game needs

What Conan:Exiles needs is new maps. We finally got a new map with Siptah , and Siptah is beautiful , but it seems like it was thrown together in a great hurry compared to the Exiled Lands. We need more maps, new areas to build and conquer and survive in.

Maybe a completely subturanean map, like under the volcano or like the wine cellar, but massive in size with lots of new places to build and fight and new lore and factions, leading the way to new DLC’s.

Or maybe new Islands , like Siptah or even a bigger map of smaller islands

Or even just the unfinished portions of the Exile Lands map, that whole Northern Territory up there. Always thought how that area north of north jungle would be a great place for some Zath faction.

The issue with new maps from FC is they have to be paid. There is quite a bit of effort that goes into that and if you’re paying peeps to do this, it has to get some revenue for it. Which means you end up splitting the playerbase.

Isle of Siptah showed quite a few flaws with having different maps. However it did give us great tools for making new maps ourselves. And no offense to those who worked on Siptah, but the playerbase handles custom maps way way better. Developers design a map they want players to play. Players design a map they want to immerse themselves in.

So what I would like to see is some method to allow custom maps on unmoddable environments. This should be the first step to bringing mods to consoles.

Because if you bring another map (or maps) out from FC for $20 (or more concerning how prices on DLC-like items went up) the playerbase will split up into unsustainable levels. Not everyone can justify paying for this anymore.

I would not even recommend a new player to buy Isle of Siptah for these reasons (only for the armors and building pieces, NOT the map).

Players have been asking for more interconnected maps in paid dlcs for years, though Funcom seem hesitant to add more.

I wouldn’t mind if they did a longer age, releasing a small map and expand it on the way to a large map…

IMHO, no problem. Every house has a computer on which you can enjoy playing mod maps, albeit not with the highest graphics settings.

Yep sadly is one of the main reasons I haven’t played the game in a while, I just hang around for any possible news and stuff. A new map with varied biomes which reward exploration would make me come back in a heartbeat.

What Conan Exiles needs is to moderate their servers and stop releasing content half-cocked. (It’s a real term not a cuss).

Program balance would be a welcome change as well.

I for one would gladly pay for DLC map and content. $20 or $30 for a detailed large map.

Honestly if it added enough content I would pay up to $40 more if they fixed defensive measures for the game.

This game needs Funcom to leave it alone :joy: seriously guys, this is my 3rd year with Conan on PC and every update just flips the game and my server upside down, makes everyone furious and does not bring anything significant to the game.

Guys just make a proper paid expansion for Exiled Lands, or a new nice map that combines both cool-lore factor of EL and interesting landscape of Siptah.

Stop killing this game by making it simplier and easier = boring.

AoW update is a garbage, and everyone knows it, Funcom knows it too. It’s better to hold on than to release something like that.

I’d rather pay another 40-50 Obolous for a proper expansion than suffer this garbage.

Just start making Conan Exiles 2 in Unreal Engine 5 already, Exiled Lands again, this time in it’s full potential.

Just to proud to admit it tho (:

Iv been waiting soooooo long for a new map! Siptah is starting to get boring now. I might be able to get at most maybe 1-2 more play throughs of it though still.
Why haven’t they utilised the giant portal looking things in the black ice temple yet? so much potential there is waiting.

Well, Siptah is a DLC and they are usually never on the same level as the base game, just a little add-on. And while it was fun to explore a new map, it does get boring fast. I feel the design was a bit poor, the whole center of the island is basically inhabitable so it’s a LOT of wasted space. But still after all these years there’s much for me to explore there regarding the receipes and gear, haven’t done much research on that front.

pray they don’t use the same database manager as this or all your hopes are for nothing.

Funcom be like: “We have altered the game, pray we don’t alter it again”

It seeems like Funcom isn’t taking in enough money through the Battlepass/Bazaar. Otherwise the sales should finance the development of a new map.

Because Funcom is not listening to the players. They don’t understand how the game is played. They don’t analyze the different playstyles. They don’t get what the players really want.

Playerbase is already splitting with mods and custom maps. So a new developer made map would not make a difference. Given the new map is a free content addition to the base game, which should be the case, because there is already monetization through BP/Bazaar.

Let me talk out my hat for a minute. Lets say X is a new building set addition to the maze. X consists of 6 pieces adding arches and such to the set. Actual cost $12. Of that $12 30% goes to pay wages. 20% goes to server maintenance. 45% goes to tencent. What does that leave poor Phil for development?

Sort of agree. But I have said for a while, my opinion the best thing to do for Conan is put together a player counsel that funcom will actually listen to. It seems to me a lot of the development is on the developers whim. Example, did anyone want a personal light besides the lead dev?

 free :joy: ya, Siptah was so free.

If, and I never see it happening, funcom made a new map it would cost as much as the game.

And here is the answer in my opinoin.

The games needs a player counsel funcom will actually listen too.

Now take this as you will, and this may poof this post. But I was told funcom should have known how the foundation fix was going to effect the nemedian foundations before the update went live. It seems some one running a private test server that didn’t get a wipe before the update had the issue with the update and reported it. So either funcom never read the report, or just blew it off.

If funcom knew about it they had plenty of time to warn players.

Do I know it as fact? No, but I have no reason to doubt the persons word.

Not my problem if you do a pact with the devil.

But I understand your message here. Keep in mind that the playerbase is small as well. So less people paying for the bazaar/BP.

Yep. Players from all play modes and playstyles.

Same suspicion from my side. Because private server owners got a hint from Funcom: wipe
