Conan Exiles needs a new map like the Exiled Lands to survive

Hi,

I had already spoken about it in a previous post but the island of Siptah is too small and too symmetrical (it’s more of a battle royal than a real island). This is great for PVP but uninteresting for players like me who prefer exploring (even vaults look the same … sucks).
Conan Exiles is a survival and exploration game that has enormous potential but the direction Funcom is taking doesn’t seem right to me (that’s only my opinion - but for my part Siptah made me stop playing Conan Exiles).
If I’m doing this post it’s because I just found out that there is a new cosmetic DLC. It’s good that Funcom is releasing cosmetic DLCs but it would also need DLC for RPG players but above all it would need additional content (revamp of old dungeons and old caves, new world boss, random in-game events, new recipes, new workshops, magic, new type of thrall, new town with merchants, etc.).

Happy Halloween !

You should try the Savage Wilds Map - it has all the things you’re asking for and it’s a completely new map for Conan Exiles.

I think Funcom will develop another map since it will keep the game going.

As @TwoJay stated, for private / single-player / co-op, there are a few modded maps you can play on. Also there is mods to expand the EL map.

Below is a list of few mod maps:

  • LCDA Map: The Sapphire Exiles
  • Savage Wilds
  • The Isle of Tir-na-nog
  • Land of Rebirth
  • Brachland - Barrens
  • Kalimdor
  • Kalimdor v2 (not sure if this is extension of the first one)

There may be more but this was a quick search of available modded maps. (Plus prior knowledge of a few).

I have already tried Savage Wilds and it is true that it is a good MAP (I prefer it to Siptah). But I find it slightly worse than the first map of CE exiled lands (it’s my personal opinion). And then it’s Funcom’s job to make great MAPs so that we can keep playing or come back to play CE :yum:

the Tir-na-nog map seems interesting, I will look at it :grinning:. The only problem with mods maps is the language. When you don’t speak english (like me - thx google translation) you end up with a game mixing words in your language and words in english. (it’s a shame that modders don’t provide for the possibility of translating mods … :sob:)

No idea what it takes to have different languages for a mod. It might not be an easy thing to do in the mod itself. I do not think I seen a mod having multiple languages, even the non-English ones I had used in the past. It may not be possible as a stand-alone mod.

My question is if you use any of these mod maps in single player do they overwrite your regular save or do they make their own same like Siptah does?

I don’t know for certain with others, but Savage Wilds creates its own save. So your Exiled Lands save will still be there as well. You’ll get the same choice if you continue from the main start menu of picking Exiled Lands or Siptah with Savage Wilds added as an option.

I would highly recommend Savage Wilds. Its basically Exiled Lands 2.0, and some Siptah without the RNG.

I really would like to see them add some real Conan locations. I know that kind of brings civilization back into the picture, but civilization in Conan isn’t that civilized. It would be similar to how it is in the exiled lands, except the npc city would be bigger. Still lots of stuff to kill you on the way there.

Maybe with a larger city, there could be sections of safe areas, but other portions that are shady, and just as dangerous as a camp in the vanilla game.

Then the wilderness could be full of bandits, cults monsters and beasts.

Like a scaled up version of Tortuga in Age if Conan but with much longer journey from the starter beach.

Idk, I just feel like there has to be some justification for max level players to go there. Extra levels and things to spend points on, maybe even expanded attributes, and obviously new gear, enemies and pets.

But really, the funnest part of the exiled lands for me was uncovering the mystery. So whatever they do, it needs to build upon the story.

As far as locations, it could be anywhere, maybe on the border of more than one territory so we can have multiple biomes again. I feel like the desert is a big part of the image of this game, but also get tired of deserts really fast. Tortuga would bring the rainforest back, and you could possibly have some volcanic wasteland area. Wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to have a swamp in there somewhere either.

The vaults all look alike? Have you done them all? Maybe 3 look similar. Also, I’ve found many players haven’t even given Siptah a chance. Take a look at my trophies. Those “ultra rare” trophies are SO easy to obtain…that’s enough evidence to suggest (at least on PlayStation) that very few players played Siptah as intended.

Define “battle royale”. I am pretty sure your idea of it is different than what the term actually means.

I find that most of the people who hate on Siptah have barely played it and have certainly not completed all of it’s content.

Depends in some cases.

I for one never did “From Beyond” and “The Shadow Out of Time” achievements. Mainly I had always used the Sigil when I got them, now I give them to my thrall instead. I never bothered to craft an Eldarium item. I have a few recipes though.

Not everyone has done a Surge, especially since the changes to the map (NPC camps). And not everyone plays on Siptah, some prefer EL and only got IoS for the new building sets, gear, mounts.

I only play on Siptah on official servers. I gave up EL months ago when i was hardly playing there.

Yeah. A lot of people have never done the spawning pools or the surges. And if that guy thinks ALL of the vaults look the same then he has definitely never done them.

Admittedly, I have yet to do the spawning pools. I will have to try it out before the year ends.

It’s a pretty creative way of designing a system to farm recipes. My only gripe with the spawning pools is the that your thrall does not get aggro on the enemies summoned. So you have to constantly kite them around your thrall.

So are we talking about aesthetic? Lore? Art? mob density? mob type? You’re changing your argument over and over.

Instead of just crying your eyes out. What are your suggestions? How would you like to see them developed? Instead of just saying “MaKe ThEm DiFFerEnT” - use your words and make some specific suggestions for them.

Ok, so you’re still making zero actionable specific suggestions. Just “make them different.”

“Listen, I’m an artist, so I do notice sloppy or lazy design.”

Ironic that you don’t notice lazy feedback.

I literally didn’t say that. You’re arguing against a point that I’m not making. Reread what I wrote. It sounds like you’re talking about just the visual nature of the dungeons and not the mechanics. Which is what I first thought you meant. So I can agree they visually look similar. So how would you like each of them to look?
