What’s the number of releases have to do with anything? There are many indie developers with 2x or 3x as many published releases and certainly aren’t doing anything cross play related.
In 2016, Sony was absolutely anti-crossplay still. Conan Exiles team was so small, had they made the game with a different company name, most people would consider them an indie developer. And come on, their initial first week sales doesn’t mean they have infinite money forever. Even being owned by Tencent now they are still subjected to a budget.
Cross play at this late stage could be done, yes, but not “easily.” I don’t care how much you believe otherwise .
Should they invest into it? Subjective. I would argue not worth it.
I fully agree with you, they should return their efforts to make the game as smooth as possible on all platforms, and as you said Sony did not like it, this type of multi-platform gaming practice, and the ones that exist give a lot of pain. head, precisely because of HACK´s, and compatibility problems between the games themselves,
Crossplay is not worth it and probably won’t happen because:
“The initial certification process for the game takes 5 days. There is also about a 5-day waiting period for the Sony Store to set up your game. Once that’s all done, you can release your game to the PS Store. You have go through this process for both Sonys (and a third one if/when you launch in Japan).”
A big update has around 30-50 small patches done internally and 2-3 big public patches to fix bugs and balance things out, and these take 10-30 min to verify and merge into the master build. One of these patches take 2 weeks for console because it’s Sony who has to install them and say “we accept your patch”. I’ll let you figure it out why Siptah won’t be on consoles until june.
It’s Sony who doesn’t care about you, not Funcom.
The only way I would change my stance on that is if consoles eliminate their patch policies. Otherwise crossplay is going to hold back on hotfixes on PC. And that’s not tolerable for us PC users.
Sure crossplay Sony/Xbox all day. Since their patch verification takes about the same amount of time. But I don’t believe -I- should have to wait on that.
I will go further, I do not believe that Siptah will be released, for the consoles, because I am in doubt when the capacity of the developers, as they have not released updates for the consoles since last year, nor DLC, nothing, and this is discouraging many players, (I AM INCLUDED IN THIS GROUP), FUNCOM people are like dogs running after their own tails, just promises and nothing to be long.
UI for Conan Exiles PC doesn’t work for Consoles. Consoles have 10 times more optimisations then PC. Your idea of “compile” sounds good but doesn’t work.
Fortnite is a console game ported for PC. Same ui and optimizations from the get go.

What I said is I DO want more patches and hotfixes that are not delayed by Microsoft’s and Sony’s verification processes. This has nothing to do with what you said.
Sure I’d like for consoles to be able to patch daily. But verification says no.
And I don’t want to have to wait for verification to get my patches. Which I don’t have to worry about now. But with crossplay between xbox and PC, it would either work like now, and xbox players couldn’t play on said servers. Or they’d wait to update PC till after verification.

I agree with you, but if you look at PACH´s relations, or UPDATES, players have more attention than consoles, both PS4 and XBOX consoles, we always wait and are put aside, this is what I I say, because FUNCOM does not care about us, whatever the consoles, the number of PCs, what they want is to roll us up, VC saw this new map made by an independent group, in one year they made the map , and is running smooth for PCs, and the Island is giving a problem behind the other, what can I say
Do you have any evidence to support that they don’t care? Not theory, not hyperbole, but actual evidence?
Because from what I’ve seen in live streams and discussions with the ones working on getting you all a patch, they do care. So do you have any video, social media posts, or legitimate testimony that can show that someone has stated they don’t care?
I’ve seen when developers don’t care. A great example is Everquest Landmark. They sold many founder packs for upwards of $100+. The game was in early access and then outright canceled, no refunds, no reimbursements, nothing. Just a copy and pasted media thing saying they couldn’t make it work and that they were just going to delete everything.
Having a bug that is hard to fix and not finding a fix for a long time, is a big difference than not caring. Not caring would be akin to them saying they are ceasing support to consoles. Have they done this? Please link the post that shows they have.
yes i believe they don’t mind, because the last update for PS4 was in August last year, and for XBOX it was a simple HOTFIX, now in early March, and nothing more and the last DLC for us was in May of last year, if that’s not neglect I don’t know what else would be
You call it neglect, what are you getting out of doing that? Why is that more important than simply accepting the fact that they may not have found a solution yet?
Because lets be honest. If no one at Funcom cared about your broken game on your console, let’s say for the sake of argument they don’t care, you’re not getting a fix, and they’re going to shut down the servers for your console and delete everything you’ve worked on. Why are you here? Why not simply move on to the next game?
If they don’t care, this game is literally dead to you. Period. Its done, its over. They took your money, they ran, and its gone, forever. You’re not getting it back. They don’t care.

It’s sad, because I play the game, since the launch on the consoles, on May 8, 2018, I have almost 20,000 hours of gameplay, and I’ve seen a lot here and I don’t have any privileges, quite the contrary, with the current situation I’m discouraging , I’m about to give up on the game I like the most,

@Taemien definition of care … something that causes such a state: a particular worry, concern, etc etc … hmmm not sure that care is the proper word that you should be arguing about … funcom knows nothing about me soooo in a sense should they really be caring about me if I don’t post something in the forums for about a week will funcom try to search me out and see if I’m ok? Funcom is a business and they care that they have a player base because as a business we all are $$$
