Apologies. It seemed a relevant discussion in the moment.
I placed my Beserker Too close to a palisade yesterday and he died when I turned around 
I think these are universal damage, even in PVE. I can’t find the thread, but I remember a discussion of a decayed building and someone else trying to move the old followers in a PVE server to clear space for new building. Palisades were the solution. I think @Larathiel and @Kapoteeni were in that thread, so maybe they can confirm. Apologies if I’ve tagged the wrong people. I’m going off of memory here.

You are correct, this is the only way to clear abandoned thralls from a PvE server
