dear funcom team. In case that russia cut the internet, can you give us players a possibility to play conan without internet, without checking funcom life service, to play in the singelplayer?
They should have abandoned forced online long ago. You cannot even play on your own paid by hosted server if their systems are down.
Yeah, as soon as they shut down their services, the game client is dead and unusable.
This is so far the only benefit Playstation has, we don’t need internet to play single player.
Plus gaming helps a lot to forget and empty your mind from real life issues, especially if you play your favorite game. So I will join you to this cause because Conan helped me a lot to pass really difficult situations in my life, really difficult.
Wait, you don’t have any option for offline single-player?
This one is horrified on your behalf.
You sure about that? It might just be a silent connection…
This one can confirm PS version works just fine offline entirely.
The recent loader leads to a delay of some time for loading single player without a connection but it is still playable.
This one would have more than a mild moment of rage if offline capacity was removed.
Your Argonian tongue betrays you.
I can play conan exiles on steam without any problems. When I’m in offline mode, the game tells me it couldn’t connect, but then I just click single player.
The way to test is to turn off WiFi and test with the Ethernet cable pulled.
So you can play single player on pc without internet? @meljcom did you try what @Dark_Overlord says?
I have tried everything - including that - On PC, if the game client can’t connect to FCS, you’re dead in the water - no matter the Play-Mode. The only way around it would be some kind of hackery.
I had to change my internet company for faster line and I didn’t have internet for too many days, oh I played a lot of Conan, trust me .
I just tried again, but steam offline mode doesn’t work for me anymore. I can no longer play single player without internet. Some time ago (I had windows 7 then, now windows 10) it worked without any problems. sorry for the wrong answer
@Dark_Overlord
No, thank you for confirming , it is very important you did .
Official support for offline play was added many patches ago. If you are unable to do so, make a proper bug report.
Though do avoid rhe ranting rhat is usually accompanied when people report issue’s with offline mode…
… verry friendly - thx
Hmmm I am curious to check this as it used to work. I am going to unplug my cable and try to play single-player. I will report back in a few min.
EDIT: It does work for me with no internet:
EDIT2:
2nd test, unplugged inet cable, exit steam, try to play - not possible
3rd test, unplugged inet cable, log in steam with no internet (steam starts in offline mode due to no internet), started conan - no issues playing single-player
So as long as you are logged in steam and own conan exiles, you should be able to play single-player without internet, at least I can.
That’s interesting… I wouldn’t have thought it possible to “log-in” to Steam without internet - so that option didn’t even occur to me. “Logging on” to Steam without internet entails what exactly, just starting Steam and allowing it to do whatever it does when no connection is detected?
What I was mostly testing was LAN play. Trying to connect a client to a server all in the same room (locally) over a fairly typical LAN configuration (as well as on the same machine). Now I wonder if that isn’t also possible if Steam is on.
Basically this yeah, I opened steam while offline and it asked me for password as usual and then it connected in offline mode. With my steam in offline mode, I started my conan client and I could log in and play in single-player. With steam being turned off completely, I couldn’t connect, it was telling me steam services are unresponsive.
P.S. I am using win10
