From now on, you can die on a flat stone and thus lose all your equipment.
At the location with the spider boss (cave) under the rocks there are stones that can kill you just by standing on them, be careful.
Are you talking about the Scuttler’s Shortcut, map grid F7? Also, welcome to the forums. 
I think players have found four of these spots now. There may be others. Nobody knows when you’re going to fall through the world and lose all your stuff.
