Decay timer for Vaults without foundations?

[Vault placed in open desert and jungle areas without a foundation decay within 24 hours of placement]

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
1.Placed vault in an open area of the desert - filled it with valuable loot
2.Placed vault in an open area of the jungle near north obelisk - filled it with valuable loot
3. Used the vaults all day long, visiting and filling and re-organizing, then logged off for the evening.
4. Next day, vault in desert is gone and my neighbor looted it and informed me it had decayed. North jungle vault was gone and another I had placed had 2 hours decay timer left on it.

I lost all day’s work filling those vaults and moving items over encumbered to organize the items. My question? I lost a week’s worth of work collecting the items before placing the vaults.

How is it that the vaults decayed within 16hours??? This broke the game for me as I wasted much time and lost valuable items.

The vault you Build, was to Smale, the Decay Time has a Maximum of 147 Hours i think ( FC Change it a few day’s ago befor was the maximum 407 Hours). To Reach this Time Build Bigger or in higher Tier.

For Example: 1 Sandstone Fondation has a Decay time of 1 Hour

Thank you for the info Brock, I suppose this was a failure of my understanding the system and lost a lot. It is not worth doing all over again, so thanks again and goodbye all.
