I logged off and I got on the next day to no vault, figuring it was raided so I checked the event logs and it said that the decay would take until 3 hours passed by. No clue why my vault decayed after less then 3 hours, but that is besides the point. This notification that let me know it will decay in 3 hours was after raid time, proving no one raided it!
I am not a 100% on this, but decay timers on placeables vary quite a lot.
It’s safe to assume for any decoration, storage, lighting source or crafting station that if you don’t have it connected to the highest tier of building piece, that it will decay much like a loose bed roll would.
That said, 3 hours doesn’t sound quite right.
Thank you for the notice! I have went ahead and looked up decay timers, on their website it says all decay timers are the same for quite a lot of things, included storage units, animal pens, light sources, etc. The main part of mentioning that, it goes the same with building pieces too.
That sounds about right. A placeable without any nearby supporting structures wont have a full decay timer, usually decaying after an hour and a half. Gotta boost the decay by building stuff around it. You can drop some foundations and even pick them up after, but you’ll have to refresh it the same way later.
This however doesn’t answer the question from your fellow exile.
Did you placed any foundations bellow it or you just put it on ground?
Was it close to your base, if not attached, or in a random place that you own nothing nearby?
Decay bugs do exist, for example here’s one recent for me. I placed a maproom and used it for several days straight yet one afternoon without any reason it decayed
But this maproom was on a chessboard of 64 foundation pieces, still without any reason i lost it, that’s the game sometimes.
In your situation however is not certain (still) that you followed the correct procedure to give better decay timer to your vault.
So please answer these questions above for us to understand what’s the case here… If you wish of course!
Greetings @Lxcky ,
Thank you for reporting this issue to us, but could you please use the given Bug Report Template?
This template has most of the information we need to start investigating and will make the process a lot quicker for everyone
You can find it here: NEW Bug Report Template
Please, confirm as well in the new report where the vault was located and if it was under foundation pieces.
Thanks in advance!
