Deer Funcom ^_~

Okay… I know hunting isn’t the goal in this game…
But it’s really breaking the immersion of the environment when deer just stand there and let you walk right up to them. Is there any way you guys could network with people from the Hunter games or something? Or at least enact a basic proximity where deer will run away? And also what’s with the crazy health regen when a deer does run away after getting hit with an arrow? Like a deer would regain health that fast after less than a minute. Mainly concerned with the basic spooking of deer honestly for the immersion feel of the game. I understand the deer healing is prob a feature to prevent people from abusing the system to take down big enemies…. But deer who have zero value for their lives is really unrealistic and breaks the immersion for me, and I assume, other people too… it can’t take much effort to put in a range of “spooking” or something, and im absolutely sure it would add to the marketability of this game. Overall this game is amazing, im so happy with how features have advanced over time since I first played on PC, but I’d love to see it become so much more. I’d especially love to see Funcom become so much more. You guys have made some of the best games I’ve played, especially the Secret World which I think has been underrated by the community as a whole. I wish I could work for you guys and help with feedback on things but im probably under qualified and im sure no one would bother looking at me twice. I just enjoy giving feedback to help those who are worth helping. This world is full of terrible companies and people just looking to make money, but money is only worth what people assign to it. Money is pointless if you can’t stand behind your work as a good, reliable, quality product. Anyway sorry for rambling…

Spoon radius for deer, if you’ve got the time
Thanks peeps at funcom, keep up the amazing work

Aim for the head
Headshots on deer do 10x the damage so you can one-shot them even with a starter bow.

I would concur. You are right it is kind of immersion game breaking whatever the terminology is.

Not running away from people isn’t an issue. The local deer haven’t had so much contact with people as to learn to avoid them.

What bothers me are the wolves, tigers and sabretooth cats that ignore the deer but immediately attack every passing human.

What bothers me is how unnatural it is to have so many predators packed in such a small area. And just what are all those mammoths eating?

Sabertooths often attack elks in the game.
Funny game: gather up a lot of elks (plus points for forest kings), wolves, sabertooth and mammoths in the north, climb up un a rock, that they can not reach you, but still attack. They hit each other, and after a couple of seconds, they start a mass brawl. Throw some gas orbs into the zoo of doom, poke them with daggers while they fight each other. A ton of meat cooking in your eyes, food for years!

The deers in Conan are hungry. Let’s grow carrots.

It is only my opinion, but I view the gazelles, deers and so on, as animals the beginner players will hunt.
The other animals are more likely to kill you when you try to attack them.

So these are the friendly preys a beginner could start with to get meat and immerse himself to the first steps of survival. It might not be as realistic as you’d like it to be, but they do run away when you attack them (a complete beginner will unlikely one shot them, so it does give a bit of a challenge too).

I think it is necessary to keep the rabbits and gazelles as beginners’ friendly as possible.

Gators prefer human meat to gazelle meat.
It’s related to whether something is codes as a combatant or not. As Elk are combatants, and so are Wolves, they attack each other. However, as a gazelle is a non-combatant, hyenas ignore it…

Exactly, what on earth could those herbivores be eating?

I mean, wolves attacking humans generally is unrealistic; they do their best to avoid humans as much as possible.

Yep. A couple of packs living in our neighborhood, and not a single confirmed incident of a person getting attacked by wolves in 200 years. (Which, of course, may mean that the wolves have eaten all evidence of successful attacks.)

They’ve eaten some pet dogs and cats, of course.

We got coyotes. On the edge of town no one leaves there dogs out at night. Most you’ll see of them is a flash of fur and the glint of yes.

Gazelles are easy to kill, deers not so! No matter if the gazelles and deers would run, Kudos and Elks would still attack. So, even if i do understand what you say and maybe i agree to this hunting part, if they were running then we would totally ignore them :man_shrugging:. The amount of meat and hide they provide already place them low in the hunting food chain!
Not to mention the 7 days to die TRAGEDY, that you get 4 or 5 pieces of meat that they are not enough to feed you for a day, from a deer .
No, we are good in Conan exiles!

The diet thing is always something that gets me in most survival games. The developers seem to think that a daily 20,000 calorie intake, along with 30 gallons of water a day, is normal or something.

@Megaton238, You do remember the time we were healing with herbal tea and meals :rofl::rofl:.
You are right, what i hated in stranded deep (hard difficulty) is that i had to drink a barrel of water every single day.
