Demonologíst weapons

Hey, whats the best t4 weapon for a Demo? Staff or dagger+tali

T4 dagger and 3.5 tali.

I always preferred dagger/tali for the T4 weapons. If you can, get the Onslaught staff.

Offensive play
T4 dagger and talisman.

T3.5 talisman has the highest magic damage in the game.

Two weapons are always better than one.

Not with the Onslaught weapons. The staff is better than dagger/tali.

I personally have not checked, but is the staff better than Onslaught dagger + T3,5 tali? I know the staff is very good though.
Maybe @Fass knows.

Gemmed out properly, I believe the OS staff will be noticeably better with higher Int, Hit, Crit, Crit Dmg, Con, Ferocity, and -Hate (plus another stack of whatever two blessings on the OS gem).

The OS dagger + 3.5 Tali will only give you more Mag.Dmg.

hmm, int = magic dmg. Is it still more magic dmg? If so to what extent? I’d take more magic dmg usually than crit for example. I’ll check the weapons myself sometime. Thanks for the info though.

I mainly only do T5+T6 so ferocity doesn’t really matter to me personally as well most of the times, unless it’s on healers. I also do not really play mages anymore so I never bothered with checking it, even tho I do know OS weapons for mages+pom/tos are very good

os dagger + 3.5 tali are the best. even with gems the os staff isn’t as good. magic damages is what matters most.

It’s not…

Getting the staff you’re gonna end up with 2/7 more int (depending on epic vs legendary gem), 11 more crit rating (a bit under 0.3%), 48-68 more hit rating (wouldn’t value this very much as you tend to not really need it, ofc this depends on your gear), 16 crit dmg rating (a bit more than 0.4%) while giving up on 35 magic damage assuming you’re using the legendary int gem (unlikely) or 37 with the epic one.

Ferocity tends to be pretty useless in pve outside of OS, the little amount of -hate is l2p issue for your tanks and the extra con tends to be pretty useless. Also you don’t get any other blessings from using the staff over using the dagger, so that kind of confused me.

The dagger/tali will give 34 more magic damage than the staff.

I think on demo+necro you usually value 35+ magic dmg over 11 crit rating + 16 crit dmg rating. Ferocity is nice for OS content of course, but if my toon is done in OS it’s never going in there again :stuck_out_tongue:

You only want the dagger outside of onslaught as it is more magic dmg without any considerable loss over t6 as far as i remember .

Stats wise dagger defo wins - the minor boosts of small stats on the staff are meh in comparison. The only reason to go staff I can see is if you can’t see yourself getting a decent tali any time soon from raids since the OS tali is trash, but that would just be a sign of playstyle…

Edit: unless of course you do OS a lot and the ferocity makes the difference there, but most people just do OS for the weapon then never do again…

I as well use the staff in Kuth/Skull gate and dagger elsewise.

This is what I thought would be the case yeah. So since I do not do onslaught the staff does not really interest me.

I agree. I use staff exclusively for onslaught. If I’m in a raid or 6-man I use dagger + 3.5 tali.
