Sometimes you select the wrong thing for a feat and you want to deselect it. Like when you spend a skill point on something in a video game and want to choose something else. This could prove beneficial for the Inventory clutter, too. Like deselect DLC items if you want to stick to a certain style for a character, or taking up less space.
You should be able to deselect feats or attributes without a skill respec potion as long as you haven’t left the menu yet. They shouldn’t lock in until you exit the menu.
Once you exit the menu though, it should lock in and require a potion to reset.
That would completely invalidate the concept of builds, respec potions, and power fragments.
Feats are a part of your build.
There is no need to one click everything or even get to max if nothing locks in. You can just constantly point swap the last few points you used.
Swap to star metal weapons, and craft a few top tier versions of those and toss them in a chest, then swap to another weapon type and craft those, toss them in a chest, then swap to armor, make some pieces and toss them in a chest, then swap to T3 building parts to reinforce your base, then swap those same points back to explosive pots. Then just grab your stuff out of the chests.
It makes builds irrelevant and removes any real reason to go grab fragments.
If ur saying “opps I hit the wrong feat” This could easily be countered with a confirm selection button. That way u dont have to use a potion and reset evrything just cause u goofed
