Disappearing Pets, not retrieveable corpse and FPS drops

Game mode: [Online private]
Type of issue: [Bug | Performance]
Server type: [PvE]
Region: [Europe]

[Describe the bug here]

Hey there! Game is great, minor glitches I don’t care about, but the following bugs just make me so utterly mad I’m thinking about stop playing the game because of them - at least until this gets fixed!

1st) and foremost: My pets keep disappearing. This happened several times now after Server crashes.
I’ve been searching high and low, especially around the location I’ve left it for the last time but no luck. Greater Hyena, Greater Panther, Greater Croc, all of them disappeared…
If you can’t manage to solve this issue, please give us at least the possibility to spawn tamed pets of any kind by console just to avoid all the futility in farming them again and again!
Impact: SOOO annoying - please fix this asap!!

2nd) My Corpse. I regularly can’t retrieve it. It happens completely at random. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Up until now though, if it happened while my buddy was online, he was always able to retrieve my stuff where I was not. Impact: Annoying for both of us.

3rd) extreme LAG Spikes and FPS drops. This happens on our Server and in Singleplayer mode as well.
Systemspecs are definitely sufficient, as I’m playing on medium overall quality just to reduce lagging to a minimum. Some areas (like the desert e.g.) are worse than others. It lags in a way that renders fighting unmanageable at times. Impact: Pretty Annoying.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

I really don’t know how to reproduce that bugs as they happen at complete randomness.

Thank you for your attention.

Hey @Bapho

We’re sorry you’re experiencing these issues. Let me address your feedback one by one

  1. I’ve informed our team about this, but until then you can spawn tamed pets on your server as long as you have admin access to it
  2. We’re aware of this issue and our team is looking into it.
  3. We’re also aware of this issue and we are actually collecting all the information we can about it from our community so our team can investigate it. Performance issues Feedback thread - Stuttering, lag

Thank you for your feedback, and happy new year!

Thank you for your rapid reply!

Wow, that kind of support you don’t see around much these days ^^

  1. I can?! Could you please also be so kind and tell me the console command as I wasn’t able to find anything on the Internet on this topic?
  2. Thank you!
  3. Thank you!

You will need to bring up the Admin Panel. To do so write this command in the console (pressing Insert):
makemeadmin "your server admin password"
Then either bring up the Admin Panel by pressing Shift + Insert or accessing it from the menu. Once you’re in there, go to the Spawn NPCs tab, search for your preferred animal, but first mark “Spawn as converted Thrall item” or you’ll have a naughty surprise. It should appear in your inventory.

After some observation, I found that the pets actually return at some point to where I’ve left them in the first place. For some reason though, it took hours and hours. But eventually, they all showed up again!

As for the extreme stuttering, I did a little research and found a 3rd party program called ‘TimerResolution’, downloadable here: https://timerresolution.soft112.com/ which almost completely made my troubles disappear.

The purpose of the tiny program is following:

Quote:
TimerResolution is an application to change the resolution of the default windows timer. The standard timer on Windows XP can vary between 10 and 25 milliseconds. Therefore if your code uses a timer or sleep value less than the timer resolution on your system you won’t be getting the results you expect.
The timer resolution will be globally changed while the application is running and will revert to the previous value when it is closed.

Despite the program was designed for Win XP, I can confirm it’s perfectly working for win10 as well.
For me, it made a significant performance change, hell - it almost feels like I have upgraded my PC with some juicy chunk of hardware or something xD
The only stuttering that remains is in certain areas, like the spider infested deserts. But also in those places, the change is - again - significant !!

I really wanted to share that knowledge with you guys.
