DLC Weapons - All non-epic weapons but swords are weaker than vanilla variants

Game mode: All
Type of issue: Bug
Server type: All
Region: EU (UK)

All weapons except the sword, for all the DLC, are weaker than their vanilla counterparts, despite them requiring the exact same materials. There are also no steel and hardened steel versions, so the DLC weapons are worthless for anything other than early-game (lvl 20), and end-game (lvl 60).

The only thing that is different, is that you need to be level 10 to craft DLC weapons, instead of 20. So they’re only usable for the very beginning of the game. Which makes them useless, until you are able to get star metal at level 60.

Vanilla Iron Sword - 16 Damage
DLC Iron Sword - 16 Damage

Vanilla Iron Pike - 20 Damage
DLC Iron Pike - 16 Damage

Vanilla Iron War Axe - 19 Damage
DLC Iron War Axe - 17 Damage

Vanilla Iron Warhammer - 24 Damage
DLC Iron Warhammer - 16 Damage

Vanilla Iron Two-Handed Sword - 27 Damage
DLC Iron Two-Handed Sword - 20 Damage

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Go to a blacksmith bench
  2. Compare the non-DLC iron weapon damage values to vanilla non-DLC iron weapon damage values

Hey @Reprehensible

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll poke our team to see if this is intended or an issue.

But they give a sweet advantage of not spending Knowledge points early when there are too little of them. The game is worth the candle

@Ko6ka Honestly, that just makes it even worse. They should be unlocked when you unlock the vanilla equivalents, not before. The cosmetics are worthless when they actively gimp you; they cost the same materials, but have less damage and resistance.

Quick update: we got word back about this.
Most of the non-epic DLC weapons are slightly weaker than their counterparts by design, however, they require lower level to craft and less knowledge points to spend.

But if that’s the case, then the DLC sword shouldn’t have 16 damage, when iron swords also have 16 damage.
