i had conan exiles on my old laptop… I still have the hard disk. Do I have to download conan exiles again on my new laptop?

If you can connect the old drive to the new LP then likely you won’t have to. But the updates you will face when you connect to steam for the 1st time (if it’s been over about a month) are the same size as the entire game - thus it’s recommended just to do a fresh install of the game (IMO).
