So I’ll be honest, I don’t really understand the new treasure coffers yet and how they will be used in the future. My immediate thought is that collecting treasure and storing it in my base is cool BUT in later chapters is my base going to be “zerged” as a result.
Right now I have two bases on the server – one is out in the open and for show. The other is more hidden and secure. My initial thought is to place the treasure in my hidden base but wondering if a bad idea long term?
From my understanding your treasure will be sought out but not till the 2.0 of of this update. Would appreciate others adding more information., @Octavian
I find it a bit odd that they don’t tell us what the ultimate purpose of them is. Worried that this will turn into a bit of “gotcha” when they finally tell us i.e. folks spent time collecting treasure only to find out that you are going to get zerged as a result (and thus the “war”).
That link shows a recap of the livestream that discusses everything. The short of it is in Chapter 2 the Clan Hoard will be a method to trigger purges, and the wealth of the hoard determines the level of the purge. Supposedly its a system that works as you trigger it, so if want a hoard room and no purges, you can. If you don’t care about the hoard stuff and don’t care about purges then you don’t need them.
Admittedly I was being lazy and not doing my research. Thought I saw something recently where they implied we were to learn more with the next chapter.
The treasurer will be used to spawn a purge when you want. The location will always be where your treasure chest is, so I wouldn’t bring that anywhere near my main base. They did say that purge will try to reach your treasure chest, so calling a purge will be more or less having a treasure chest with 1000 gold bars in it(to have lots of waves) and 5 layers of foundations around it.
There’s still 3 months at least until next chapter, so maybe they will change it.
Some friendly players will probably plant some treasurers around your bases. I hope Funcom hasn’t forgot that purge pulls to other players is still a thing.
The fact is that with these statues, cats, etc., we are being provoked into large rooms. And the larger the room, the easier it will be to storm, destroy and rob in the future. Therefore, I decided to abandon all these heaps and cats and make the smallest room, surround it with building blocks, put only a chest there and collect gold and silver in it. I already have several tens of thousands of gold and silver bars, why do I need some more cats???
I meant that players will place a bunch of treasurers(as in a treasure chest with the npc) near your base and hit the summon purge, if it will work like the trap on Siptah.
Not how the new raid system works.
The raiders go for the chest, the chest can’t be set down where it’s area is over lapping a different clans foundation.
