Do you actually know your fellow Exiles?

Because it’s an important question I want to ask here as well:
Anyone planning to go to Gamescom in Cologne in August?

Would love to but I’ve already made commitments so wont be going this year :frowning:

Ah shame!
But also welcome to the CE community

I spent 4 years in Europe. Don’t think I’ll make a trip back for a few decades.

Although, if you’re able too, Ryan air are cheap flights all over the area, just take a carry on.

Wish I could, but it’s hard enough to finance the trip down to Atlanta for Dragoncon.
Any chance of you guys making it there this year? I know, kinda running out of time.

I guess there are some things I can share.

I’m from Finland, although I look more like a wimpy Cimmerian than a Nordheimer; people recognize me by my big black beard (slowly going gray). I’m variously known as Kapteeni, Kapu, Cap, Cap’n, The Captain and other twists and abbreviations of the military rank ever since I picked The Captain as my first Internet nickname at the beginning of the new millennium.

I’m an enthusiastic tabletop role-player; my current gaming group has been playing together for over 15 years (we lost one player and gained another during that period, but the core of four has remained the same). We’ve played many things from 2nd Edition AD&D to Cyberpunk to Exalted to Wild Talents to DungeonWorld, as well as made an RPG system of our own, SteamJazz.

But my real fame is in the genre of miniature games. I’m not a very good player (I’ve won a few small tournaments, but nothing major), nor an exceptionally talented painter (even though I’ve won a few painting contests) - but I’m very smart and I make a lot of noise on the Internet, so people tend to listen. (That seems to be the story of my life with Conan Exiles too - I survive in the game only because I play single-player on easy mode, but I write very many words on the forums.)

I play some computer games on what’s left of my spare time. Conan Exiles is currently taking the main stage, but I love all sorts of RPGs (such as the classic Baldur’s Gates and the more modern Divinity: Original Sin series, as well as Nihon Falcom’s Legend of Heroes series), turn-based strategies and the occasional RTS, having grown up with the original RTS, Dune 2 on Amiga 500.

I’m also an anomaly these days in the sense that I read books. You know, those bits of dead tree that have been flattened and ink has been printed on them to make words. Lots of books.

And I’m a fan of 1980’s children’s cartoons. Transformers is my true love, but I’ve a soft spot for He-Man, Robotech, Count Duckula, and to a less extent BraveStarr and Thundercats. Most of them are, objectively speaking, crap, but I love them anyway. And I like some 1980’s live action TV series too, including A-Team (which I’ve translated and subtitled into Finnish), MacGyver (who is one of the greatest inspirational characters in my life) and Zorro (which ran from 1990 to 1993, so close enough to count as a 1980s series). And Babylon 5, even though it’s decidedly 1990s (if I ever had a daughter, I’d name her Delenn).

I’m a translator and a linguist by training, but make my living as a tech support guy. I kinda like helping people with their computer problems.

Hello everyone,
my name is Snorri and I come from Iceland. I just graduated in Computer Science and next on schedule is applying for jobs. As a kid i owned Nintendo PS and Sega Mega and played games like the classic Sonic and Mortal Kombat 3. When I got my first PC at the age of 14 I discovered RPG games and played classical games like Neverwinter Nights I, Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale and so on. My english grew stronger by playing RPG, I needed to have a dictionary on the side to understand what was happening.

One of my favorite game however is another of Funcom creation, The Longest Journey which is the only game i have played several time after completion. In Conan Exiles I love how creative you can be, you see a lot of beatuful buildings, I am around level 45 and playing on PVP servers. Every time I am getting some progress with a nice base some random player with a lot better gear than me destroys all my hardwork :open_mouth: that is the part of the game i have this kind of love-hate relationship with. I play

Aside from gaming I am metal head at heart since the age of 14, I am 32 now and love the extreme metal like black/death metal and also travelling but my daughter lives in Germany and I try to visit at least once a year.

Fml, forced to read playboy magazine since they did partial nudity.

Yeah another voracious reader here! Though I will confess that I read on a Kindle a lot these days. While it’s a poor substitute for a real book, it’s very convenient in an otherwise hectic life - and a lot better than reading on a phone or regular tablet!

Plus I already have a few cubic meters of books and nowhere to put them, so I try not to add too much to that particular problem. So I only really buy a few paper books per year now.

I’m in the same boat. I can never bring myself to throw out a book once I’ve read it. Who knows when I’ll want to revisit that world and characters again. So, I’ve ended up with a library full of books and a wife who lovingly said no more… And then handed me a kindle. It’s not as nice as holding a real book, but it really does take up a lot less room.

I usually spend what free time I have in my laboratory or garden, or play with my children. I work as a Martial Combat Instructor, Personal Fitness Trainer, and Spiritual Counselor. As for video games, I prefer older games such as the original Might and Magic series, Dungeon Keeper, Baldur’s Gate/Icewind Dale, and Gothic series.

Aside from my name, hobbies, and careers; there’s not much else to say. I spend a great deal of time within my own mind; pondering, mostly, incoherently about unintelligible nonsense.

Due to my work, I stay rather busy most of the time which offers me little time to sit around and play games.

“. . . the issue is simply that most don’t think of the most important question to ask. They wish to find out the what so they can work on the how, without understanding the why. Why is the most important piece of the puzzle. And without it; the picture to clarity will never be fully realized.”

Greetings, Exiles. I am Cauthey. I am also known sometimes by my SteamID handle, the__elf. I have also, periodically, been known to some by my Conan Exiles chosen character names: Crash, Rhino, Teshaza, Shadow, Luigi, and some others. I am not apt to share a lot of personal details, so that is all you’re going to get.

I have been a gamer for my entire life. I suppose, as well, an tech savvy / engineer type. When I was young (like 7 or 8), a kid in my neighborhood elicited my help hooking up his Nintendo Entertainment System. I was gifted time playing Super Mario Bros with this neighbor on his rig for a couple of days as a reward for my help. It was not long after that that I managed to get my own NES. Which, naturally, I hooked up myself. Prior to that, I had an Atari 2600, with a bunch of games.

While I have enjoyed consoles, I am really more of a PC gamer. I prefer to be able to use mouse look as I am absolute crap with the analog round joy knobs, or whatever. Plus - I can do other stuff on a computer besides play games.

I have also worked in technology for the majority of my career. I am not a programmer/developer, but I have worked along side and have befriended enough programmer/developers to know what an API is, and what common libraries are. I have worked doing technology type stuff in a sports management/marketing company, in an ERP software sales company, in a large animal conservation organization, and currently work in the financial technology industry (FinTech).

I am a proud father of four, and we are all spoiled by my wife who puts up with our antics. And my gaming. We also have two cats, and a dog (Great Pyrenees).

I really enjoy Conan Exiles. But I will admit that I get regularly frustrated with the bugs and issues. I long for what this game could be with just a bit more polish. I usually solo, and play on PvP Official Servers. Though I am doing something a tiny bit different this time around. Other games I have enjoyed recently when not playing Conan - Payday2 and 7 Days To Die.

Hi, I’m Droch-aon (evil one in scots gaelic) I am currently inactive in conan exiles.
I was born in the late 1950’s my first video game was pong.
my first computer was apples A2e, in the early 80’s I built my first PC
I have always worked as a laborer, with art as my hobby I sold my first sculpture at 17, I’ve sold hundreds of paintings. In the early 90’s I joined my love of computers and art together and started doing 3d cgi work.

Because other people talked about their cars, I’ll talk about mine
I owned a 73 Nova 350 rocket, a 68 Fury 383, a 80 Camaro 350, 79 Trans am 403,
and a 63 Valiant.
But I mostly rode my Harley Davidson, 87 Sport Glide FLHS (the precursor to Road King FLHR)

Around my 50th birthday I started having tremors and my speech slurred.
I was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy.
But I can still walk an after speech therapy I can talk as well as I ever could.
Only thing is I walk with a cane and I sometimes “zone out” so no more cars or bikes.
(no drivers licenses)

The reason I’m inactive is around a year or so ago I relocated, so people can help take care of me.
(not my Idea, btw)
and the internet here is “complicated” I don’t feel I can devote the time and bandwidth needed to play Conan at this time. However Fiber Optics is coming to this area soon, so I may be back before too long.

And because even Barnes Who swore me to secrecy about his name, posted it here.
you can call me Arch

P.S. There are lots of other Cars and Bikes, like I’ve had Choppers and sport bikes, Pick up trucks and station wagons, but I listed the ones that meant the most to me.
