I’m playing again after a long break, so this is the first time I’ve done the Freya quest line.
I know she can have different perks based on how she fights during the quests, but are her attributes and growth chance always the same, or should I repeat the quest until I get decent ones?
Right now (still at level 5), she has Strength 17 (50%) and Vitality 37 (80%), with Carnage, Savage Swings, and Bloodbath.

You can make the potions to rerole her stats .I believe it is from Jebal Sag. She is glitched enough to get get her. Good luck Exile 
The Elixir of Rebirth (from Sorcery) will allow you to re-roll a thralls perks, but I wasn’t aware of one that will re-roll attributes or growth chance. I looked up Jhebbal Sag knowledge, and saw nothing in there.

If that elixir has been updated to re-roll more than just perks, that’s pretty handy. Unfortunately, it appears that you can only use it on a thrall that is level 20. No error message, but using it on Freya did nothing, and didn’t consume the elixir.
However, I did try it on my horse (the only level 20 follower I have) and it did not re-roll the attributes nor growth chance. Just perks.
In any case, I don’t think it matters. I took Freya out to fight for a bit and she’s kind of useless, even for a level 5. I normally don’t bother with thralls, but I thought I’d give the new ones a chance. Maybe Liu Fei is more interesting, I just started that quest.

I find Freya to be pretty good personally. I recommend always using the mace, particularly the Momentum with an advanced weapon fitting on it for extra damage and penetration. Depending on the perks you got from her quests, she can have some pretty good stuff, like bleeding, attached to her attacks. If you didn’t end up with her best options, which you can look up on the wiki page, then I’d recommend restarting her quests and trying again, especially if she’s still low level. Not worth leveling her if she’s got less than desirable perks.

Freya does not have the same growth chances every time. Neither does Liu Fei. There’s no way I’m aware of to reset their % chances on official servers. Possibly a mod for private servers could do so.
I usually repeat Liu Fei until I get one with a decent vitality chance. 70% seems to be the max on that for him.
In my experience Freya is about equal to a cimm berserker after the perks are factored in though she is lessor in pure stats. You can get a plus 15 to str and vitality perk in place of carnage if you wish however.
I find Liu Fei’s corruption curing to be useful personally.
Freya and Liu Fei’s perks are set in stone once they’re acquired and cannot be reset with the elixir of rebirth. It’s not a level thing.

I believe that you can do whatever pleases you in this game and get your own answers on each matter. What i can guarantee for hero thralls is that they can follow you better than others without authority points . I remember when this thing started i will get my fresh Liu in wine cellar for science 
. Well he did it ! I didn’t had to babysit him and he was pulling a fair amount of agro too .
I liked the concept most because i never felt the need to have more than one of them and treated them as unique after they earned their position in my pantheon of exiled friends. But if someone wants to repeat the war of clones, why not , it’s “science” after all .

Ok, good to know, thanks. I’ll probably try for another Freya, since her strength % was pretty low.
I also realized why she seemed useless. Apparently she didn’t like the sword I gave her, since half the things she attacked took literally no damage. Gave her a basic star metal weapon and she was hitting consistently.
Freya is pretty powerful. Her stats are slightly worse, but still roughly equivalent to a Cimmerian Berserker, but she adds bleed damage and/or other special abilities. In total, she seems to deal more damage than a ‘zerker. She’s a bit squishy, though.
Liu Fei is… weird.
- His AoE damage cloud can be useful, e. g. for drawing aggro from crowds, but deals very little damage.
- The illusionary double he can cast is interesting, but he needs several seconds to cast it before any fight and doesn’t seem to renew it in combat.
- His invulnerability bubble was nice before down-but-not-out was introduced, but is a bit superfluous now. Also, it tends to bug out, at least in my game.
He’s fun to experiment with, though, so try him out if you haven’t already. I’d say his usefulness depends a lot on the situation and player creativity. For example, I like using him in purges.
