Does power draw also apply to arrows?

When a player uses a Power Draw-based bow like Bessie’s Bow, do the arrows also benefit from the Power Draw effect?

The damage from a bow is basically “Bow + special affects + Arrow = Damage”, so in the case of Bessie’s it’s “Bow + Power Draw + Arrow”. The power draw affect doesn’t get counted twice, but it does get counted in the total damage being done.

so which one hit hardest ?

str or agility ones ? if a character has zero points into agility and str? and both using the same arrow. ?

If you’re using a Power Draw bow then the “special affect” modifier comes from your strength.

If you’re using a regular bow, one that does not have Power Draw, then the “special affect” modifier comes from your agility.

If you don’t have any points in strength or agility then it doesn’t matter which bow you use because your special affect bonus is zero, all that’s left is “bow + arrow”.

p.s. Keep in mind that the armor you’re wearing can provide an agi bonus or a str bonus, but to keep this simple I’m just answering the question based on your personal stats.

p.p.s. And if you give a bow to a thrall, you have to see what their agi bonus or str bonus is. Some thralls have agi or str bonus even at Level 0.

ok lets say i have 20 in str and 20 in agility , if both bows have the same damage output, which one will give more damage?

i am just curious.

They should deal the same damage.

Explanation:

The “arrow’s damage” doesn’t change based on attributes. The relevant attribute gives a one-time flat bonus to the damage total, not to both bow and arrow damage.

Example (with example numbers):

30 damage from bow
20 damage from attribute bonus
10 damage from arrow

60 damage

P. S.: Sorry for the bold letters, the forum software is doing something weird.

You’re making this more complicated than it needs to be.

  1. If the bow has “Power Draw” then you only want to use it if your strength damage bonus is greater than your agility damage bonus.

  2. For all other bows, you only want to use them if your agility damage bonus is greater than your strenght damage bonus.

Power Draw = strength bow
all others = agility bow

does not say in equal circunstances which one will be better.

@Khaletohep did answer that question.

and power draw only works on newly spawned bows, cause there are agility bows that has power draw , but it came before they added it and retained their agility modifier.

Yes it does. In equal circumstances they will be equal. That’s what equal means.

I’m pretty darned certain that this is not true. If a bow has the Power Draw attribute they are only strength bows, they do not gain any bonus damage from Agility. Bows are either strength bows or agility bows, as far as I know none of them benefit from both.

Which specific bows are you thinking of?

all old bows before changes, had the agility modifier, and has powerdraw (does not work on this weapon)

there is your proof.

I thought arrows were affected by attributes because they had the phrase agility-based. So when I picked up the strength attribute bow with power draw, I thought arrows were not getting any damage bonuses based on the strength attribute.

If the arrow has independent damage that is not affected by either agility or strength, I don’t think the phrase agility-based is necessary. Because it only causes confusion.

I think the issue is that FunCom didn’t update the tooltip in the game. It should not show up as an Agility Weapon, if you look on the wiki it says that Eye of the Khan is a Strength Weapon.
