During an un-announced Official Server restart if a person is in the middle of leaving and re-creating their solo clan, they can inadvertently get locked out of their base when re-logging back in

During an un-announced Official Server 1735 Restart today April 10 at around 9:30am I was in the middle of leaving my solo clan and recreating it. However, when I logged back in I was unable to access my Base, e.g. chests, structures.

Expectations: When a person leaves a solo clan, where they are the last member, all items should then be transferred to them. However, I don’t think the transaction completed due to the Server Restart as the character, “Mordsith Cara” was now clan-less but the base was still under the clan name “D’Haran Empire”. I was therefore not able to access my base.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a small base
  2. Create a Solo Clan where you are the only member
  3. Leave said clan when a server restarts (this is practically impossible to reproduce as a normal user)
  4. Re-log back in after server restarts
  5. You won’t be able to access your base because the transaction didn’t complete where it assigns the base and related resources to your character after being the last person to leave the clan.

Solution: Please create a mechanism to create an in-game messsage “SERVER RESTART in xxx minutes” and lock certain transactions from occurring at the 1-2 minute mark with a message explaining why they can’t carry out the transaction. For example, “Cannot perform this action during a Server Restart period. Please try again later.”

IRONIC NOTE: I am able to access my Thralls, but once I change them from “Guarded” to “Follow” I can no longer place them back on Guard as I get the message “This Land is already Claimed”.

Official servers do send warning messages when they restart (10 min, 5 min & a 1 min warning), it sounds like you experienced a crash. When the server restarts after a crash, it reloads the most recent update to the database, the problem is, that could be 5 minutes old. In your case, it may have corrupted your clan data.
