Dynamic Building damage

In alot of ways the struggle with the hassle how many great pvp battles start.

The way they were going to make it work was by maintaining one or two raid windows a week, during the weekend, if I remember it right. That would have transformed PVP servers from “you have to have someone in your clan online 5 hours every day” (which sounds mind-bogglingly absurd to a guy like me who has work and family and doesn’t need a videogame to become his second job) to “you’re at risk whenever you play, plus you have to have someone in your clan online for 5 hours on these two days” (which still isn’t my cup of tea but at least it sounds reasonable).

Honestly, I wouldn’t have an issue with more raid times if the buildings were stronger and bombs had drawbacks (and no they are dirt cheap for how much damage they do).

Agreed. Many times I bypassed doors and went through foundations and walls because it wasn’t difficult to do.

Me personally I never really liked fence stacking. Sure, you can getv1,000,000 hp of thickness, but they only stabilize vertically, meaning take out the bottom and whole column of 40 stories high is gone. I uses triangle wall pillars honeycomb. 20 stories tall. They have to blow thru one whole section of 7 pillars , plus try and figure out what was really the first floor.

Or we could just have real thick walls and reinforcements and (non survival players cover your eyes here to prevent permanent damage) realistic archaic (ancient and also unstable) bombs that do (gasp again) realistic damage to these walls and reinforcements.

the whole raid mechanic and explosives needs an overhaul. increase HP, make it where to ignite bomb you do an animation using the torch or some other fire. knocking it over does not make it explode. I mean we carry the bombs and jump around with them on hot bar/body, so disturbing them should not make them just magically ignite. This with DbD would make raiding fun. Gods have a counter, the bubble. But explosives in general are “dumb” mechanic, even used by some while meleeing.

Even add in “farm” zones. Where there is an in-game structure that produces resources (wood, stone, iron mainly). This structured “canp” could be built around, and when enclosed starts producing resources. Sort of a control flag. Have 15-20 across map. Then if your clan controls one it increases purge meter by 25%, meaning you control more, you face purges, and I mean level 10 purges. Make otbwhere there is a reason to control and attack. For pve, don’t know how to keep them from being troll blocked though? Maybe the purge meter is doubled of controlled on pve, thisbmaking it near impossible to have too many by one clan?

I’ve always wondered how lore friendly the raiding mechanic is in this game. I thought Conan was more of a thief, breaking into your place and stealing your stuff. I didn’t think he was described in the books as a demolitions expert/alchemist.

He’s also not described as someone who indulges in “lewd behavior with corpses”, “fornicating with low beasts”, “cultural appropriation”, “breaking the fourth wall”, or “combo skipping”, to name a few crimes that led to each player’s exile.

Although tongue-in-cheek and off-topic, my point is that the player’s character is not Conan. We play in Howard’s world and setting, we get to meet Conan, but it’s a sandbox game, and we’re free to play it how we want.

Just need to know when Funcom will switch some official pvp severs to DBD on. I can server transfer to there. The current raid window sucks for those of us up at some reasonable time, everyday.

I can build a base in a day, but on current officials it’ll be blown up in a day by multiple clans. DBD at least gives a fighting chance.

The only objection I see is coming from enc-builds.

However, the militaries of the time were. Conan was the main character of the story, but he existed in a world in many ways different from the one he came from and had a warrior’s code very different than most others.

Only if you don’t consider the build into as part of the PvP experience. Your build vs my raid
not just your combat skills vs my combat skills but your design, your defenses, your planning vs me coming in for an assault. Can I call a “timeout” when fighting you and say I’m not prepared? No? Isn’t that what you are doing with dbd? You aren’t prepared for an offline raid so you don’t want to play that game? If the ToS wasn’t around I would think the dbd would drive the PvP servers towards more aesthetic building but since ToS are enforced, I’m not sure what dbd is serving outside of making Conan PvP into a fighting game only. I don’t want to fight you, I want to outwit you. Dbd hampers that.

I thought they removed playerbase monitoring for Conan Exiles (only officials maybe) Battlemetrics as it even says do at the bottom of the server info screen.

Porking is still happening? My log showed 1 beserker against 20. It’s unplayable.

I thought they shored that exploit up.

Uhhh, no pvp means fighting others on Conan. how can I raid and fight other players on a pve server? Please do tell of an exploit.

Condensing is your entire article you wrote. You admitted to not wanting to worry about combat and raids while you casually farm. So you should play solo, can casually farm all you like there. Why do you play on pvp servers if you don’t want to pvp? Seriously, why?

Turns out the dedicated “pve-c” server I’ve been playing on for the last couple of days is actually a DBD with 24/7 pvp/building damage and no raid windows. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping Funcom would set a few servers to when Siptah was early access just to find out what would happen.

Turns out the server is pretty chill. According to the server owner, actual raids are pretty rare and only happen when one clan(s) decides another clan needs to be driven off the server because they did something unforgivable.

How will the server function when some people with more . . . pathological . . . ways of thinking show up? Hard to tell. The admin doesn’t have pippi installed, which I personally think is a mistake, but oh well. Not my server.

Actually, since most of the players I have talked to stay away from Conan because they don’t want to play everyday with current 9ffl8ne meta the ruling strategy, would actually come back because they could at least enjoy the game on thier terms not a 7 day work week. Thus server has higher pop. Now the clan raiding me does have 30 mins of free time, but guess what, more clans nears they could be getting raided by another clan while they ate online. Meaning, they have to be cautious of true alliances, etc. Right now it’s a wait it out and then 6 hours of free raid with no one else on server.

No one seems to read the op. I propose 5 DbD 24/7 days, a 5 hour window day followed by no raid day. This way even if you “Wipe” me in the last 30, I could come back on no raid day, rebuild mats and bombs and then retaliate. The way it is now is not providing clan wars where there is a defending gameplay.
