Encumbrance suggestion

It’s actually nearly impossible for my cousin with out a named thrall of T3 thrall with good stats to go by herself and I am the one getting them and leveling and doing as much as I can she refuses to remove beast of burden because she will be a easy kill to NPC let alone players I by no means don’t give her trash short of dragon level gear unless she has one of the final perks in Authority oddly enough all the thralls I have given her have dropped dead the moment she gets overwhelmed by a group of npc, the game has become simple yes but in same since definently harder, I like it. But yeah lol…

I wonder if people cant really understand that a mechanic made to prevent you from being the “chosen one, half orc, half elf, half giant, blessed by the Gods and anointed by the sacrosaint sacrum of the one nut priest” who can defeat the whole sparta and rome empire might be changed because, and I quote, “as it is you cant do whatever you want” and instead has to think about your limitations.

Also not many have friends and some clans won’t even add a new server player without restrictions on their capacity because of possible sabotage.

Also not everyone has friends that are willing to take the time to love the acquired taste of conan.

Uh I still see a penalty for it are you sure its been remove? No penalty if you stop and still have stamina but with 0 I have a 5 second delay.

Survival means isn’t always tied to level.

Tell that to the moment I get accidentally pined in by 3 people and jumping without the double jump doesn’t get me out staggered to heck I can’t raise a shield If I could carry one.

I have more than enough experience when I am seen by some they run away… making me a bit disappointed.

Limitations within reason I can carry over 70 pounds on my back but my character can’t my buff conan styled character can’t? I’m 5’5" I weight 150 I’m by no means muscular.

Carrying stuff isn’t just a matter of raw strength. It takes different muscles to swing an axe than it takes to carry a 30-kg backpack. In real life, I can carry that backpack, no problem, but my arms would get sore pretty quickly if I went chopping wood.

That’s why Expertise is something you need to train separately. It’s the kind of strength that won’t help you swing the axe, but it helps you carry the firewood home.

The Attribute system is designed so that you can’t be good at everything at the same time. And yes, this means that if you’re not built for carrying lots of stuff, you’re spending a lot of time doing inventory management. That’s why I’ve always built little outposts around the map - just tiny huts with a box to store loot, and maybe a fridge for food if it’s close to a place where food might be useful.

It also means that you need to choose which items you want to pick up from dead enemies or dungeon loot chests. Having two followers and a mount helps you with the heavy stuff - make your horse or camel carry the bear cubs and Cimmerian armor.

I forgot that I would be swinging a weapon logically yeah cannot do that with a load lol. I also have a friend who plays a lot but doesn’t like fighting I have them swap to my server to loot and I protect them, but also found a gearset that gives me a big advantage against most on my server, an my warmonger friend is also coming back so lol.

Most of its taken care of but I definitely agree with you and will obviously have to suck it up.

It’s not entirely bad idea, but in my opinion this change would make bearers pointless (even more than they are now).

No one would be using them anymore, since you would be able to take a berserker fighter (or two) with good dmg multiplier, and boost his inventory almost to the point any T4 bearer’s inventory capacity, as it currently is now.

That having been said, bearers are destined for the dumpster anyway.
The fine geniuses in charge of development think that they can protect role integrity or other such nonsense by making them lawn chairs. Heavens forbid anything ever be as useful anywhere compared to a Cimmerian Berzerker.
Fun fact, if you grab a strength bow, the Cimmerian Berzerker is also one of the top tier Archers.
Meanwhile, other names Fighters still have sub 1.0 melee modifiers and/or cannot complete combos.

There’s an easy balance that is within reach but because it is easy and coherent, it will be shunned.
All combatant type thralls of the same tier would have the same base stats, then some modifiers for their faction.
Dancer remove corruption.
Bearers have more inventory slots.
Fighters have a higher melee modifier.
Archers have a higher ranged modifier.

Easy, simple, smooth.
Protects roll integrity.

When this one says higher modifier, this one means by a whole 1.0 in that hidden stat. Possibly scaling up from that by tier. Leaving Dancer and Bearer damage always mid.

But this one digresses from the point of the thread.

Question to my knowledge dancers use to heal I am actually not seeing that anymore was that changed or something?

Bearer thralls use to be the only thrall to be able to hit 9999 HP is that not a thing now?

Entertained isn’t nearly as impressive of a buff as it used to be.

Sated is the slow Hp Regen buff now.

Yes and no! If our attributes can do everything then many features of the game would be useless. If we go back to the old attribute system, the old armors, old thralls and old legendary weapons then this was possible, but at the same time bearers were totally useless. A player even in pvp servers could combat overencumbered and easily win a 1v1 fight, or avoid a hoard of pvp players and escape.
I do agree that full encumbrance builds especially when over encumbered needs “fragility”, the more you carry the easier you die. I believe that percentage points of over encumbrance should reduce hp points, something like corruption is doing right now.
Today!
A player who will build full agility, 2 points on vitality, 2 points in grit, 4 in expertise, agility buffs, dragon bone armor with bulked plating, tulwar and shield, can solo the whole map alone over encumbered. With a little patience of course, but certainly solo, even the freaking rockslide :woman_shrugging:t4:. But again, with patience, your dodge now is slow, your stamina regen is slow, so you cannot enter like a hurricane and slay everything in seconds, your attacks must be methodical and your aggro really careful. So it is again possible to play full encumbrance and loot all around the map, yet i wouldn’t recommend it. I play full encumbrance for very specific reasons now, harvesting materials, build something big or go to my surge wheel to bring back my new population and loot.

I carry nothing else than the ones i need. My mount carries some extra tools and my camel fighter the targeted loot.
I slay easily and fast everything alone and always go back safe and sound.

I believe a gear set rather than the random pieces with encumbrance (random amounts) (which has been helpful) I find would be great as a full set equates to a bigger amount would be good I could then lower the overall weight of the gear and use it as a backup means to keep going when I become overloaded, I tend to grab the stuff I currently need and or lack, I have been constantly re-spec’ing my attributes to my benefit. But a encumbrance gear set with a set buff would be great, I have also been farming a booklet that provides random stats which one is +45 encumbrance.

Camels can fight?

Agility building is all I like I cannot get behind strength builds anymore, not that it’s bad but when I swing a 2hand I keep getting interrupted which was slowly making me furious, I don’t tend to run heavy but rather medium or light gear - medium lately and even then I have been chunked 70% of my health in a single swing from stuff that use to do absolutely no were near that amount, 25-40% tops.

I am by no means trash on the Combat aspect of this game, but I will occasionally get hit by a random addition, otherwise my war sickles, I wait for the attack and attack during the window of recovery, but random chaos will happen at some point.

I don’t have knowledge of bearer thralls being useless post gear/attribute change, if anything they’d be the best short of a berserker, being my old bearer had 9999 health, it somehow used a shield magnificently to which most claim its horrendous. Heck it could take at least 4 solo provided bleed wasn’t a factor.

Question about the wild surges is it still possible to get T4 crafters? Had I know they would change the purge system and not remember cause and effect and what they didn’t put in the new version of it, I wouldn’t have let my stuff decay at any point.

Heck I have noticed the moderator claimed ‘exploit’ I found still exists in game albeit has no real value to use it.

Huh so someone outside of my server uses dragon gear lol no one but my group does on the one I am on lol.

Bummer, I use to bring a dancer and keep them in specific places I needed to get a faster thrall recovery. As I use combat healing for my thralls.

Absolutely no! And believe me you need none in your fights. That’s the awesomeness of building a warrior, you’re a freaking hurricane to all the fights, with Musashi you almost oneshot everything as long as you dodge before apply the first heavy. For incoming multiple enemies you spam 3 lights and last heavy. The only weapon right now that can go against the efficiency of katana is the Thag scythe, 2 heavy dodge and repeat, you can crash a lvl X purge alone with this weapon. But Thag scythe is strength weapon so your atributes are making you a bit vulnerable. Yes, strength builds make the player vulnerable, go figure :rofl:.

Here’s a fantastic build that will help you both training them but carrying for you.
Abyssal armor! Musashi, Tulwar.
4 agil
2 vit
2 grit
4 authority.
Give to your bearers momentum and at least dragon bone armor. Make them meat shields and go from behind slicing with Musashi, but dodge before to give crashing hits. Both buffs in agilty again. Minions can be pain but if you order your bearers to attack first, then you can handle the multiple minion fight easy.

Yesterday on south surge i got an alchemist, an armorer and a carpenter tier 4. Yet i took naked alchemists and cooks lower levels which is cool, they wear only their tattoo :wink:. 3 fleet foot, 2 carry through storms and 3 yoggite veterans. Not bad for a single surge hah :smiley:.

Yeah, but this is you, and not some random mortal. You could probably do that blindfolded and holding the controller with your feet instead of hands.
