Enemy unable to properly regain aggro after losing it

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: None
Mods: None

Bug Description:

Enemies (specifically crocodiles and komodos (so far tested) can lose aggro if not immediately able to attack you and then don’t regain aggro properly, instead remaining in a constant state of ‘leashing’ type behaviour (constantly healing fast) while refusing to fight back, just wandering about. Eventually, enough attacks or damage (or time?) can knock them back out of this state and start them back into proper aggro.. (I have some video footage of the behaviour, but will need someone to explain how I can upload it (can I just upload to something like google docs - or do I have to also learn how to use youtube?)

Bug Reproduction:

(As is visible in the video footage - if someone can explain to me how to upload) I started in the water offshore from a komodo - I got it to aggro on me without me coming onto shore, waited for the ‘combat music’ to die down and then came on shore. The komodo returned to wandering around and would not aggro on me no matter how much I got into its view and also ignored me as I repeatedly punched it. It continued to ignore me as I stacked multiple stacks of bleeding damage onto it (with stone daggers) but it was at the same time visibly healing the damage at the rate that would be expected for an enemy leashing back to it’s spawn point. Eventually I was able to do enough damage to knock it into ‘combat mode’ again, the music restarted and the stacks of bleed rapidly killed it.

Yeah, it happens to any enemy; usually if they attack something first and you attack right afterwards; even the three-skull elephant, bosses, NPCs; they just stand there till the bar is spent or follow you as if they were attacking but they do not actually attack. This issue needs to be resolved, it’s pretty pathetic to attack a foe that just stands there as if you weren’t sundering their “sunder”.

Greetings DanQuixote!
Thank you for reaching out to us.

In order to send us a video, you can either upload it on youtube - or another platform - and send us the link directly here, or you can upload the video from your computer and press the button ‘‘Upload’’ at the top of the ‘‘text box’’ when you’re writing your reply.

We’ll be waiting for your video!

Thanks High Saint

unfortunately when I try to use the ‘Upload’ button, it tells me the format is not supported (video is .mp4).

If someone can explain to me how to upload elsewhere (youtube or wherever), or how to convert into a format that is supported, I’d be happy to do so.

My process is convoluted but here it is:

  1. On Xbox, I have captured video set to sync to OneDrive.
  2. On my computer, I download the video from OneDrive.
  3. Rename the video to something meaningful.
  4. In YouTube, go to my channel. You first need a google account and then you need to create a channel for you to upload. I created a separate channel from my main Google account to keep them separate. This channel creation is a one time thing.
  5. In YouTube, follow these instructions: Upload YouTube videos - Computer - YouTube Help. I add a description that describes the bug and I make them unlisted so that you can only see it if you have the link. But you can choose whatever you prefer.
  6. Then I add the link it gives me to my post.

Hopefully this helps.

Thank you - that seems to have done it (assuming the link works in my next post  )That was exactly the information I needed.

@HighSaint

Please find the video here - https://youtu.be/5i3FgFEKsHQ

I was ever so slightly slow hitting the record button on this video so, to add context - I started out in the water offshore from the enemy (komodo) it spotted me and aggro’d - coming to the water’s edge where you see it at the start of the video. I then waited until the ‘combat music’ died down (you can just hear the end of it at the start of the video).

I hope this helps - if not I can try to go back and see if I can do a better job of starting the recording quicker
