based on that explanation you realise that the only way I can get anything close to what I want is by splitting community and ask for new maps that build not around survival but objective pvp maps? Like Counter Strike and World of Warcraft battlegrounds?
That too me would be a cool idea! but out of the concept I was hoping this would spread
Tho this game has a GIGA potential for competetive gameplay like objective based pvp or similar Red VS Blue setups
even Raiding has potential but then it would have to be out of the survival aspect, that is again not somthing I wish to happen as I like the survival aspects in terms of farming & so on but that is essentially, what you are requsting me to ask for instead.
That’s why the mention about wanting the bread buttered on both sides. Because based on my explanation, as you said, there is nothing to do about approach and preferences of majority of PvP players, who just don’t give a flying heck about your balance improvement ideas. While some of those reasons I understand, with most of them I don’t agree and I would like to see the same improvements as you.
It’s just that years and years in this game taught me, that some things you won’t get. And that is not about having a bad idea of involving something else, but about the fact of player base having some mindset, for which is PvP mode created. About the fact that griefers are gonna grief. About that so said “hardcore” PvP players won’t nod on this, nor will participate in the attempts of tendering the game, so everything is more equal - because they do not want equal. They mostly thrive on exploiting, playing rough, wiping servers, killing noobs, raiding starting bases and not giving a damn about other players overall.
PvP on officials is toxic environment.
That is also a reason I retired and do not play PvP anymore, because it’s just not worth it to me. Also I know that I can’t change people’s thinking and preferences, no matter how good I mean and how awesome it would be, if people were more fair and played the game “my prefered way”
I did not want to imply that your ideas are wrong and that you have no choice than to go to PvE. It is only about getting to the point where you need to accept the terms and reality as it is, because devs won’t go and change something on which their game thrives, so they would lose a big part of player base.
Another solution that occurred me is trying to establish something like this on private server. Many admins on those don’t tolerate griefers, cheaters and a-holes in general and on their servers are strict terms and rules about raiding and PvPing others, so there is no picking upon weaker ones, etc.
Simple, build a pyramid and place a vault anywhere you want to fight and enjoy the 10v1s until they wipe it. Otherwise you either focus on ambushing farmers or staying out of sight. Not missing much anyways atm. Loadstoned/stammed out and gang banged is usually how pvp goes for unlucky solos. I get wanting to just 1v1 or fight to fight but usually big tribes are out for blood and will despawn your kit rather than letting you keep it.
I wouldnt call it thrive, and personally I think if we count the people + new comers suggesting similar stuff thruout the lifespand of this game. I think the number would overpower the current player base in pvp by a miles because the game is only a shell of its full potential.
“Thrives”, in this case meaning “keeping certain sort of players to stick to the game”. Take away from hardcore PvP players something to prey upon, and you will the poopstorm of disagreement plus reasons why some things won’t change.
One may suggest whatever he wants and as I said, I am for spreading the word about any potential improvement. I just gave up in terms of having high expectation from the potential output and results.
Fitting “wisdom”: Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,the courage to change the things I can,and the wisdom to know the difference.
I did not make one so far, but I see them here from time to time, just have no idea about how they work and what terms need to be met to create one.
About the perspective… Yeah, as I said before, I “gave up”, but not in the common sense - I just don’t care anymore, because I’ve chosen to play in environment where those problems don’t bother me anymore.
It takes skill instead, right?
