hey, i wanted to farm the torch and the bow from the red mother, dragonboss in unnamed city. what is the best way to do it?
normally you can let your thrall do all the hard work but with the red mother that seems to be REALLY buggy. every 10sec my thrall is under the map, not attacking. and when i attack the dragon i usually get stuck in the dragon itself or things like that, really annoying.
so how can i farm her easier? is there a way that thralls dont get stuck?
New plenty of posts about it recently. Supposedly it was fixed in 2.3 but I’ve seen no improvement whatsoever. Thrall still getting belted underground, and the Red Mother herself is still a drifting buggy mess. There does not appear to be a way other than enduring to farm her.
First off good luck farming the torch. Im on kill 80 it seems and still nothing.
The best technic I have so far is to bate her up the first set of steps use a bow and arrow for this. Then climb up on the ledge directly to your left (if you are looking towards her). She doesn’t seem to be able to hit you most of the time but her body will come in contact with you. Sometimes you will be inside her other times you are floating on her head. Use a shield to cancel her actions when she attacks.
Only issue I have come across with this is once in a while she will glitch under the map never to return until the server reset. Also, make sure your follower does not teleport on the ledge with you they wont attack.
After you kill her run around killing the other bosses or collect fragments for 15mins rinse and repeat
The way I normally deal with the Red Mother is by using venom-infused daggers. I stack a few bleeds and poisons on her, evade her attack, stack a few more, and keep going like that. That way I can keep up a stack of 20 bleeds and 10 poisons until she dies.
Fighting the honest way… booooooo 
If your thrall gets pushed under the mesh do this.
Press and hold command, very quickly since red Mother is most likely chasing you.
Choose ‘Stop’. Then click on anywhere around on to tell your thrall to move there. They’ll ‘demap’ themselves and continue fighting.
Next to the stairs there is a ledge you can climb onto. With a little pivoting, you can dodge the attacks from the dragon. Sometimes you might catch a bit of fire, so jump about a bit.
Take about 200 snake arrows. 100 poison arrows. On that ledge, you can solo kill the dragon by pumping in 10 snake arrows, switch to poison for 10, and alternate. Shoot light shots so you get through your 10 arrows quickly, otherwise the affect will wear off. If you manage to stack poison and poison gas, you will get through the dragon in no time.
Combo that tactic with attribute builds like full points in accuracy etc and you will kill the dragon in no time.
You won’t need to take your thrall.
Keep at it. The spawn rate is random, so stay positive you never know what you could get. In farming so far I have gotten 5 torches and about 5 bows, plus a bunch of legendary armors. This all in about 30-40 kills.
Each time I log on, which is once per day, I have a routine where I visit the city, kill the dragon, kill another boss, then get on with what I’m doing, in just over a month, I have collected heaps. This is what I mean by saying be patient and positive, after a while you will have what you are looking for.

On PC, you can also simply double-tap command. I’m not sure if that also works on consoles, though.
No idea. I know that the spawn rate is like 1% or something but yeah, I did get about that many in like a month and a half or so. I don’t remember the exact amount of days, but I do remember there are times when I got something like twice in a row. I was as surprised believe me. Today I farmed the dragon and got nothing though. So, it’s all relative I guess.
As @CodeMage said his tactic is use venom-infused daggers. I too use this method, plus some times I shoot a gas arrow to the extra damage.
I give my thrall a spear when fighting the Red Mother. Even if the idiot gets stuck in the floor, he can still reach up to poke the Red Mama in the belly.
But yeah, mostly I use Venom-infused Daggers to do the work myself. Mama is annoyingly tedious to kill, but not actually difficult.
Just found her on Siptah… ran strait into her lol. So after the first surprise fight I built a house near by and will start farming her. Picked up an interesting sword does low damage but has 100% armor pen. Not sure how viable that is.
There are two hatchlings with her like the EL map. Also the Green dragon is close and very close is a three skull Lacerta that will get involved in the fight. Crazy fight very fun. Was very happy to have a pretty tough thral with me she was able to tank a lot of it. I was less effective than normal (horse nerf) but still did my part.
