Fatal Error Crash at Funcom loading screen (after downloading game patch today)

Game mode:: Online private
**Type of issue: Crash
**Server type: PvE
Region: Gportal - USA

After downloading the patch today, my game crashes at the Funcom loading screen. Also, the Gportal server we use is continuously cycling on and off - it won’t stay up. We have disabled all mods on the server and it will still not stay up.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Start up Conan Exiles
  2. Game crashes with Fatal Error popup at the Funcom loading screen (after Unreal and Nvidia loading screens)

There are several mods that clash with this new update. If its a mod interference, you’ll have to wait for mod developers to re-bake their mods so that its compatible. Most likely, this will mean any mod that touches the crafting or vanity characterization systems will need to be updated. That includes storage and stacking mods, too (I suspect).

Exact same issue here (Clients and rented Server)

Region: Citadel Servers - Europe/Germany

Remove your local mod list from here:
\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Mods

After removing your local modlist.txt you should be able to start the game without crashes.

For the server: wait for the mod updates. You can test which mods crash and need an update in single-player. Some of them have already been updated, others such as Fashionist will be updated shortly.

As stated in the OP - all mods are removed from server (not just disabled) and the server is still cycling on and off.

We have received the following from GTX. It may help with your provider as well. Make sure you have a backup first though!!!

Disabling mods is sometimes not enough; removing the modlist completely is recommended. And in extreme cases, unsubscribing from the mods completely is needed (but keep a list of them so you can add them back later when they get updated).

That’s all I got. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need advice from someone above my skill set.

Having the same issue

ok update. I used the repair option on our G-portal server and that did nothing. I opened up the modlist.txt and even though I had removed the mods they were still listed there. I deleted them from that file and the server stopped looping and started normally.

u should know its not a patch its the fight funcom against the modder scene and private servers… and they will win this fight one day…

What Rastulla is saying is wrong. I have no mods on my game and it gives me a fatal error. All I get is fatal errors no matter what I do. So yes it is the patch and funcom. Funcom, I and my entire friends list of about 20 people are having fatal errors. Please do your job and fix it. In a normal job, you guys would be standing in the unemployement line right now.

Also experiencing fatal error on loading screen, after trying to enter co-op and single player (it happens with both)

This is with all mods removed, & mod folder removed. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

Single player saved game are completely ruined with the new update. Any saved game from before the patch stopped working for me.

I know it because I had saved game backups dating when he DLC was released with no mods. Even those will not load.

Just an update, as of 10/30/2020 I am able to log in to single-player, co-op and servers. I did not do any tricks to make this happen so one of the updates fixed this issue for me at least, I hope that is the case for many others also.
