Since the latest windows april updates, so a week or so, your game is simply unplayable with amd hardware; 5700x3d and rx 7700xt, i’ve done every possible solution in case of system instability, nothing has been of help, any other kind of game works normally but yours.
I hope that your upcoming hotfix has a solution for this; I shall also remind that effect if set above medium will cause an instant crash of the app if using an amd gpu, those bugs have been around for very long.
With the actual situation when i log in and play, randomly will hang/freeze and I’ll be forced to kill the process from windows; in rare occasions the game will work normally.
It may be that some windows processes working in background can interfere with the game.
Given that it is Friday evening, you won’t get a reply from Funcom until at least next week, so i thought I’d try to save you some time.
Funcom reps will suggest one (or both) of two things - either they will suggest that you go to the discord for Private Server owners as they will be more likely to be able to help you - Admins United: Conan - Discord for Server Admins! - or they will ask you to check whether the problem occurs without mods, as it is quite possible that the problem is being caused by an outdated mod or mod mismatch.
I don’t have experience of how to test mod issues on a private server, but in singleplayer this would be done by removing mods and adding them back in until I was able to isolate the one causing the crash - maybe it is possible to do something similar on a server?
Unless your issue is directly related to the server being reported in the initial bug report, I would suggest opening a fresh bug report of your own - that way the Funcom reps will have a better chance of seeing it and may be able to provide some suggestions. The bug report template is a bit temperamental, so if you are not sure how to use it, Pugilist provided a visual guide which can be found here.
I’m sorry I have nothing more to offer, but your issue is well beyond my experience. I hope that you are able to get it resolved and would strongly urge you to open a bug report on it.
There was another poster recently that had a RX 7600 and driver related issues, he had found the soultion but decided not to share this with the rest of the forum.
See this thread here.
Picking apart the little he did post about there can be a few possible solutions.
The first would be do not use the latest drivers I know this seems to be the soultion for many issues update drivers to the latest but it is not always the soultion.
Second, from what I have been reading with regards to AMD drivers is that the software Adrenalin that comes with the drivers can be causing the issue.
Thirdly, it may be possible to find modded drivers with respect to your gpu’s, this used to be the way around many years ago, by modded I mean there could be optimised drivers for the gpu’s.
One site I used to use for this is https://www.guru3d.com/ it may be worth having a look through the forums also.
good evening, cyc. i have my drivers updated, both gpu and windows. i use rx 580 and ryzen 5 5500, biostar b450m, and 16gb ram. i will check into the site you’ve provided.
after LONG time i’ve found a temporary solution, deleting all the ini files in *\ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
finally ceases the crashes to happen, but if a mod will be updated the problem will return and you’ll have to repeat the process.
It has happened even without mods updating after few days from the last ini deleting.
