Fighter Thrall won't use weapons in combat, XX_Unarmed Left

I gave my favorite bodyguard thrall, Vathis the Hierophant, Hanuman’s Gada with the Spiked Fitting, and a Steel Truncheon with the Advanced Blunt fitting. However, when we entered combat, I noticed that she was attempting to club animals with the truncheon instead of the 2-handed maul, so I took the truncheon away.

At this point, she then equips Hanuman’s Gada, but refuses to swing it, instead she just keeps trying to kick enemies. At this point, I noticed that she had a strange bag in her inventory labeled “XX_Unarmed Left”. I’d seen others reporting this before, and sure enough, I cannot drag it to my inventory properly.

The only way I can remove it is to perform a Take All on her inventory, and which point I end up having several in my character’s inventory. Additionally, if there is even one of these on the thrall, it becomes impossible to transfer a weapon to them, the game acting as if their inventory is full.

As of right now, this has effectively rendered my best fighter useless for anything but soaking damage. :-\

Lastly, I cannot remove the XX items from my inventory using drag & drop. Instead I have to click them and press the Drop button individually, or perform a Give All into a chest and then remove from it those objects I actually want to keep.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

This just gets worse and worse. Gave Vathis daggers since that’s what they spawn with in the volcano. She equips them, but rather than attacking, all she’ll do is perform backflips away from enemies over and over. Seriously thinking about dumping her in a lava floe at this point. :rage:

Additionally, her inventory is several screens long now yet seemingly empty save for the daggers in the very last slot, as if there are dozens of invisible items on her.

This is an OLD issue one that needs to be added to the fix “soon” category. :slight_smile:
Nothing you can do but try and equip then drag to her inventory then back into the equipment slot this is the only way I can get them to work properly.

I have the same problem when equipping Vathis with the Serpent man shield. If it’s an old issue then it most likely will never be fixed.
