Thrall never puts weapon away?

My thrall is always in “attack stance”, having the sword drawn. Even after an enemy is killed, he does not put the weapon away.
I always have to manually take the weapon out of this hand slot and put it into his inventory, then he stands normal again. However, he then wont use the weapon anymore and just run to the enemy without actually attacking.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Put a weapon into thralls inventory
  2. Let the thrall attack
  3. He doesn’t put the weapon away even after the battle is over
  4. /

I’ve had this happen quite a bit too. I’ll put it back manually like you did and just watch him run up to the enemy and stand there like now what??

Yes, i have seen it too. If you put their weapon away from the “hand” slot to their inventory, even if they are not in active combat, they will not fight again until you manually put the weapon again in their hands. Really annoying bug, please funcom fix it.

I am currently trying to get my thrall to fight properly again, but I am running into a combination of bugs:

  • weapon not put away after combat
  • not equipping weapon after removing it from the hand
  • getting stuck and not running to a target and only removing the weapon makes it follow again
  • attacks often only work when thrall is close to target when ordering attack
  • thrall not teleporting to player / returning from scouting

They are unusable most of the time at the moment.


That’s exactly what I experience right now, I hope that gets fixed, for now I take a greater tiger with me, they might not be as strong but attack more reliably.

You could use dancer thralls as well - they sheathe the weapon after use.

Oh yes that’s true, I totally forgot that they can fight as well :slightly_smiling_face:
Still though, fighters should get fixed as well since they are, well, better at fighting :smile:

@Ignasis Has this behavior stated in the post been observed/confirmed? Thralls are bugging out more now, server restart will correct whatever happen.
