Food and %increase on Thralls

Hello.

I was noticing that Thralls do level up their stats better WITHOUT any food.

For example, I have a Cimmerian Berserker with 90% on STR.
When I feed him gruel (+14% strenght) he always gains 1 level, which is right, being at 104% growth chance.

But when I level him up without food, he often gain 2 levels in Strenght per level-up. Just wanted to ask if this is normal and work as intended.

But most of all if any of you noticed the same or is it just me.

It’s just RNG.

If you roll dice you’ll find that they quite often do things that don’t feel right, because randomness feels weird to us humans.

It’s not possible to use a single thrall to be able to see how the extra % chance works, they only level up 20 times and a lot of weird things can happen with only 20 rolls of the dice.

Sometimes you get lucky on stat rolls, sometimes you don’t, there’s nothing more mysterious than simple RNG happening.

Could also be the traits that get unlocked at certain levels boosting a stat more than normal or reducing it slightly.

Point is I’m seeing this on EVERY THRALL I’m raising since AoW (or maybe even AoS-3).

It’s not 1 thrall, it’s all of them. Their stats level up better without food.
BUT it may be just my perception, I just wanted to know if anyone else did notice this.

Unless you’re carefully documenting their stats and the raises they get each level, the only reasonable thing to do is assume that’s it’s confirmation bias. With all of the percentages and chances involved with leveling up thralls, it’s pretty much impossible to be sure unless you’re truly tracking everything that happens. And of course this isn’t directed at you personally, confirmation bias is really hard to overcome, it’s only possible with careful data tracking.

I have a spreadsheet for the 20 thralls I’ve leveled up in the last couple of months and I don’t see anything unusual but to be fair I didn’t track every single level and I didn’t specifically track which ones had leveling food and which ones didn’t. I just recorded their stats at Lvl 0 and then their stats at Lvl 20.

People “notice” lots of things but that doesn’t mean they’re true, the only way to be sure is to carefully gather data on all of them as you level them up.
