Thought of a name for my rented serve, did the numerology for it (yeah, im one of those), created an email acc, fb page, instagram, logos and digital flyers for it, REGISTERED in gportal… only to find out that the word “HERAIDS” cannot be used…
The server name contains the word “HERALDS”.
I mean, whomever created such restriction (xbox/microsoft, funcom, dont care) clearly isnt even literate as it cannot tell an I for “incompetence” from an L for “lame”.
So, to whomever is responsible for it, congrats on completely stealing my lust to play this incompetent and lame game.

You should care, because you proceeding to call this an incompetent and lame game when it is, in fact, Microsoft implementing the word restrictions reflects poorly on your attitude.
Whomever it is, said restrictions should be on gportal as well, then.
Ive wasted 7 hours of my day arranging and preparing everything, not to mention that the server is paid for. It’s a ridiculous amount of time and money down the drain.

I am not disputing with you that your server name shouldn’t be denied don’t see anything wrong with it. We have had a server for Ps4 since the game came out some clan names are not accepted.if racist and a few other reasons. But as far as naming your server shouldn’t be a issue. If someone doesn’t like the name tell them to piss of and don’t join that’s on them. I don’t believe this problem is due to Funcom also depending upon what country your server is based in could be a issue
I don’t seem to be able to Google much on the name don’t understand. I do know that when something in another language is close to what you are trying to use could be banned. Good luck to you. @TheReallyBadGamer
Yeah a censorship system in an M game is entirely stupid to begin with if you ask me and i wish the devs, microsoft or whoever, would take that absolute fact into account. This is an M rated game filled with blood, gore, nudity, cussing, slavery, and even mentiojs of much much worse, set in a universe that is filled with the worst of humanity, and yet some absolutely asinine words arent allowed to be typed in. Like slave, for christs sake. A word used all throughout the game already. You cant even type in the word breast. I found that out when i wanted to make a tavern called “The Witch’s Breast” and yeah the system very obviously identifies all Ls as i for anyone who would try to circumvent the censorship. Ffs this is an adults only game yet we as PAYING CUSTOMERS of games are treated like toddlers. I could understand censoring racial slurs and the like, real world things that would be offensive like that. But the fact that my characters journals of their experiences within the exiled lands with the note system have to be dumbed down to the careful language of a kindergartener is utterly ridiculous. Ive even found some absolutely childish words to be censored for no good reason. Im pretty sure that both butt and bum are both not allowed and sometimes bizarre, random things as well. Like, if the censorship was at the very least a server setting thatd be nice. For those of us who arent so thinned skinned as to be unable to hear the word “buttocks” it doesnt even take into account words that have a naughty word within them such as Kushite, literally the name of a race within the game, cannot be entered. The fact that more of the community isnt upset about being patronized like this makes me rather unhopeful for the future of M rated gaming.

Haha, no, i’ll actually indulge you cuz the truth is even better than that answer: to create a safe space for idiots, like myself, who have spent way too much money in this buggy game, before realising it was a buggy game where at any point you could lose all your Leg gear because your summoned body wouldnt render in for you.
For all the idiots, like me, that would finally find that named bearer, almost die trying to knock it out, only to have it fall into the map, making it impossible to bound them with a rope. For all te idiots, like me, that struggled to get to lvl 60, only to end up with only 59 attribute points. For the idiots, like me, that didnt get the completion of the journey step they did complete. For the idiots like me, that spent real money buying stuff off bazar, to only get it delivered months after. For all those idiots like me, I wanted to create a safe space, where those game bugs wouldnt be so much of a problem, cuz I would make they seem as unnoticeable as possible.

Furthermore, I’ve been thinking… why would they ban “her aids”?.. If I was a person with Aids, it wouldnt sit well with me to have my medical condition flagged as a curse word, something to be hidden, banned, ashamed of! This is borderline criminal!

And of course Im not under the illusion that it will be censorship free, doh, but idk, I just feel more confortable being censored by Sony, and not by a company whose founder is wanted in 3rd world countries for his illegal medical trials in children. Alas, one can only but become a product of their own environment, so I’ve also started a censorship of my own: all personal computers now operate on Linux. Husband and children are expressly forbidden to support anything with microsoft’s logo, all email accounts have been changed to private email providers like zoho or proton.
Microsoft and its Meta(stasis) are being completely banned from our lives.
