Funcom, LEARN from this!

As a console player, I sort of saw this coming. You took a game so many people are diehard fans of, and really thought enhancing the visuals would bring the game to the next level, even if only for PC. And what happened? A game that looks cool but has more problems.

Are you even aware that people are using commands to take visuals down to the most basic potato settings INTENTIONALLY because the game runs smoother for things like PVP?

Here’s a NOVEL IDEA:

Instead of focusing on making the game look prettier for a third of your playerbase, how about giving your ENTIRE playerbase a better game?

Fix the real bugs. Focus on CONTENT, focus on YOUR COMMUNITY, focus on taking CARE of your players who are your bread and butter. Trash this new thing and build off of the foundation you had with the game that we have all come to love.

THIS! but they wont listen. Sad but true…

Unfortunately I doubt the devs have the time or desire to use the crayon method of answering questions. They need to focus now on the actual version to improve it so people can finally enjoy the enhanced version! So…i disagree!

Things have improved a little, to be fair, but the servers… wow, they’re 10x worse, is unplayable!

And you’re right to a certain extent, they really don’t care about the loyal player base, sadly…

So true, the fact that there has been zero official posts explaining the cause for the massive spike in pings and lack of action says much.

That comment would make so much more sense if there was a question literally anywhere in my post :joy::joy::joy::joy: but, you tried. You failed spectacularly, but you did try. :cookie:

I don’t know, they claim to have fixed a lot of bugs and improved performance a lot.
Plus in theory devkit in UE 5.6 should give moders a lot of tools plus allow porting assets MUCH more easily, while also allowing some that weren’t possible before(Niagara).
I’d hold some cautious optimism regarding the changes.

personally i can understand where you are coming from with this. yes they had the opportunity to just add in the the current content to the current game, but i think the revitalization of the graphics was more towards breathing life into a 9 year old game with the intent to attract a new players while at the same time merging the two maps to allow all players to travel and experience both the isle of siptah and the exiled lands without needing to run on two different servers. With this being said, yes the enhanced version is full of bugs and ping/lag issues currently (which is to be expected when launching what is currently a brand new game at this point) it’s still an amazingly beautiful game.

i think where allot of people get hung up on when it comes getting things released to consoles is the certification process behind it: Source from nipsapp.com and Source from Microsoft

which can be a bit problematic at times and is costly. Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but i dont think steam has a certification process for releasing or updating games like consoles do. Which in the long run can cut back on costs for the bug fixes which occurs for launching (at this point) a completely new game all together.

And

As far as CEE coming to console i believe @Dana had touched on the availability on consoles.

i can see and understand why most console players feel hurt at the moment (i too am a console player) and everyone has the right to express their feelings, but bringing negativity to situations like this doesnt necessarily help when bug fixes and and network hardware issues need to be dealt with to combat the new influx of players.

In all, I’m genuinely happy they upgraded Conan to UE5. this was probably the one thing the game needed to keep it above water. Is the transition from UE4 to UE5 going to be bumpy of course it is, Conan Exiles is roughly a 9 year old game made with a whole engine/code, its essentially a brand new game from the bottom up at this point. There will be bugs and lag at first but as Dana has mentioned every thing that is being mentioned here is being taken into consideration. Personally hoping to see the warpaint buffs come back and a possible thrall leveling system.

Yeah, that’s my understanding as well. Which means it’s a lot more plausible to take multiple attempts at getting it right on steam - it’ll still cost dev-hours, but it won’t also cost the finances and time required for multiple attempts at certification. Hopefully, once they’re able to get the problems ironed out on steam, then it could be done in one attempt for consoles. Of course, this is still being optimistic, and maybe they still don’t make the jump to consoles (maybe there’s other reasons, other costs, or just a lack of desire to do it - we don’t know), but we can at least hope this is the big reason behind it and that there is still a chance.

aaahm…the spike is because people are actually playing again. average 15 players per server simply means high pings and lag. That was petty predictable anyway ON PATCHDAY. No official explanation needed to state the obvious.

the game hasnt seen this many players online in the past 24 hours since its glory days.

genuinely exited to see if it surpasses its peak player count of 59k which was roughly 9 years ago

40K players came back.

Keep telling yourself that.

they haven’t managed to get dune on console. but it’s coming. i’m sure conan exiles enhanced eventually will too.

it looks great. i love the wireless crafting. Please Funcom start developing new content for conan exiles. Dune is ok but Exiles is way better

While having a slightly high ping is okay, going from 40 to 500+ isn’t because it blocks us from continuing the game. They should have atleast removed the ping limit to mitigate the situation, but haven’t yet done anything. If this was known there should have been visibility and a fix preferably.

Just because shit happens doesn’t mean we ignore it and live with shit. If I know something bad is going to happen, I plan ahead and avoid the situation.

But all have their way of living, who am I to judge…
