Funcom mentions first "DLC pack" to be released in June

, ,

Releasing dlc move right now with so many disgruntled consumers, the game as it is, is broken.
Asking ppl to pay for content to be added to this mess will be an affront, u will sink this game faster than… Well it already is.
If u release dlc u need a reworked map where mounts can be used, huge leaps in optimization.
The ne new building blocks
Better AI
Just a better package altogether, i’ll give u 4.99 for wot u offer n only after u give me wot i was promised

There wasn’t even a mention of sorcery in the article and previously on stream they had addressed the orbs as being a sort of stand in for it. After reading about the archery changes, it appears that with explosive and healing arrows, that they are again putting sorcery on the way back burner (like in another county back) and substituting it with archery for now. At least you can tame yourself a pack of poison shooting spiders to take out your enemies. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

People are focusing, wrongly, on the paid DLC part of the recent annoucement.
They also mentions a big free update with actual implications for actual gameplay, from new dungeons, to pets, archery rework, new god, and bug fixes ( hopefully, a lot ).

The paid DLC doesn’t even take time out of the devs hands by putting the load on the artists. Sure, there are armors and weapons, but it sounds essentially cosmetic for now.

Anyway, don’t look at the halt empty glass, look at the half full one =)

( but I saw that coming from miles. Announcing a paid DLC would obviously take all the attention over the free content and bug fixes. )

I would love to see new features in the game, but that is not what is needed now the game needs to not constantly crash first, and yes dlc does take time away from fixing the issues that currently exist becuase there will be a whole new set of bugs on top of the really bad ones we already have.

Not rude at all…Great point in fact! The base idea is to Bug Test what is also in the DLC while bug testing the other ‘patched’ stuff. I know the ‘New’ issues as well as what is fixed. I can accept that for a small price. I can take the entire package and make that decision then and there.

The point really isn’t about resources, where they come from, who gets pulled from what.

The point is, we all paid for this game. There are many parts of it that, a month later, still not working, things that are incomplete, ect… They still haven’t fixed the first product we gave them money for… and yet here they are wanting us to give them more money for other things. It’s very poor taste on their part at this point in time.

Last thing this game needs at this point is yes men and bootlickers.

A dinosaur survival thing game sells an paid dlc in ea phase…nobody cares…and now funcom is doing the same after ea…and so much guys are crying…what the hell…

They want money omg  , i´m pretty sure, the dlc won´t cost the same as the groundgame…so wait and see…

Maybe we will find it out next week, all is possible

Yes funcom have a lot to do but…give them time…i have huge problems with engine crashes, not working purge, no weather system, unready djungle and volcano…but i can wait

I play funcom games since 2001…and i´ve learned patience…it is not easy i know but… it´s funcom  …they start with weeks of silence and after that they came back with a boooya

let´s hope the best

uuhhh…what??

"Studio Wildcard’s Ark: Survival Evolved remains in Early Access, however last week released its first paid expansion. The majority of comments found here—not to mention the fact that the game’s Steam reviews have swung from Mostly Positive to Mostly Negative over the past few days—would suggest a sizeable number of players have been upset by the move. Studio Wildcard has now officially responded. "

I really don’t know where you got that idea from.

my personal experience from the steam forum, facebook and friends… the little part that complains about the paying dlc was attacked by the fans, this is what i mean with nobody cares  my fail sry

No, last thing this game needs is more negativity.
My point wasn’t about ressource allocation in the first place - it was a secondary note. It’s not even in my first paragraph !
Actually, see, that’s the point.
They start their blog note by telling how they are adding things to the game as well as fixing things, all for free, but people are focusing on the seemingly useless, optional, mostly cosmetics-filled paid DLC described at the end of the article, suddenly oblivious to what they just read above.
Unless they skimmed through the post and only read that DLC part, so they could barge in and say how unacceptable the whole deal was.

I hate bootlicking, I’m a very strong critic of mostly everything, and just like my next fellow gamer the prospect of a paid DLC when the game is in this state annoys me, at best. I also absolutely get the bad taste of even announcing it. Heck, I’ve been talking about just that on our discord.
It’s still not a reason to blatantly ignore the part about free content and bug fixes. And that’s what my rant was about.

As a PS4 player as well, I’m more than fine paying a subscription fee to join online games. It is a bit puzzling why few have made this a thing in the PC world.

Entitles the user to:
• Basic Access Pass: One Public Server, any Private Server.
• Premium: 10 Public Servers, any Private Server
• All Access: All DLC, All Public/Private Servers, Tournament Eligibility

Because if you tried to charge a subscription price for this game in its current state, you wouldn’t need all those extra servers… Because there wouldn’t be enough players to warrant it.

And thats not because I’m against subscriptions, I usually prefer them. But the current state of this game, I don’t see many people forking over a monthly fee to randomly lose all their shìt because
-reasons entirely unrelated to actual gameplay-.

Console is a mess, and that’s much of the reason there are so many people bucking this.

I’m not against them having paid DLC, it’s just at this point, at least from console end, asking for more money from players who are already dissatisfied with their product is something they should not be doing at this point in time. They wanna release dlc and charge for it, that’s fine. But save it. Wait until you don’t have a truck load of bugs, glitches parts of the game that are simply broken and/or incomplete before you do that. That’s really all anyone is asking.

There is a pretty well known bug on PC where if you upgrade your ceilings and foundations from sandstone to a higher tier, the objects that were on them have a chance of disappearing upon the next server restart. I lost a few named thralls in armorer benches with a lot of materials in them due to this bug recently.

When I upgraded my donut, I lost an imp. blacksmith with T4, a carpenter’s stand with T4, and 6 chests filled with resources, armor, and unplaced thralls(some where T4’s). It was specifically the stuff that were on triangular foundations.

Yeah, that is a real shame. All that time spent gathering, hunting, crafting and enslaving all down the pooper.

I came from the world of MMO’s, but this title and it’s mechanics really caught my eye. The shame is that the MMO’s I played never had these kinds of game breaking bugs, so it is unnerving to see major problems even after release on such a fun title. Hopefully the 500 bug fixes in the upcoming patches will fix most of the major issues without breaking something else…

I agree, and I’ve actually taken a break from the game on official PvP due to bugs and issues that I’ve found.

I hope that these bugfixes are substantive, because it is an excellent game when it performs as intended.

To play Devils advecate on this, CD Projeckt Red released 16 pieces of free DLC and 2 paid for expansions for Witcher 3… So DLC can be free in that regard. (I’m hoping it will be free)
