FUNCOM YOU NEED TO ADDRESS THIS & TAKE ACTION! šŸ“¢

Been like that for a while. Has gotten worse, but not like it’s new.
Straight up, public server performance really is dependent on whom is logged in. I’ve seen a ping of 120 with 14 on and a ping pushing 400 with just 9 on.

I’ll with hold my opinion on that because that is a completely different bag of cats

I only ever play on busy servers(not many left) I can assure you the issue has increased tenfold after that age of hero’s update. (Again this is mainly PlayStation) I have pc and do have not experienced it) either way I guess I’m just saying words to the air because the funcom team seems to be backed into a corner atm and not saying much at all.

It’s time for Funcom to be held accountable. Time for them to fix what they’ve done. Only way to make them do that? Hit them where it hurts - right in the money.

Yes, it’s well past the time for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, to stop giving them money. I told people this years ago - speak with your wallets or they won’t listen. What happened? People kept giving Funcom money, Funcom hasn’t been listening. Time to change that.

To really send the message loud and clear I think everyone should also stop playing the game for a few months. Show solidarity with the folks that can’t play by not playing until they fix these problems. Get those concurrent player numbers to an all-time low for a couple months while bringing the cash flow to a grinding halt and they’ll have to do something instead of doing nothing.

Complete agreement with what you’ve just written. I wholeheartedly believe that hitting Funcom’s bottom line is the only way we’re ever going to see any chance of improvement.

Sure, now convince the other 90% of players to quit shopping the bazaar. That would work.

Happy birthday m8 :tada:

Mr. Crom, I respect your tenacity. We can only keep this thread in their face and hope they fix what they broke. our options are limited to try to get them to do the right thing. A boycott of the overpriced Conan online store would get their attention but good luck getting enough people to make a difference. A class action lawsuit would get their attention but isn’t that guy steverno suing them already. lol. When I bought the game in 2018 it didn’t have an expiration date.

I stopped purchasing on bazaar. Was regular buyer. Also, most of the people I hang out with also were regular buyers. No more. Many people that I know quit playing it.

My friends stopped playing, too. The UI overhaul was the last straw for most of them, and for me, but some got fed up before that and stopped.

I bought most of the DLC packs they released but I stopped giving Funcom money when they added the battle pass and cash shop to the game. I knew that day was the beginning of the end of the game I enjoyed and I didn’t want to be guilty of supporting them financially while they slowly ruined Conan Exiles.

Maybe - or maybe the shareholders simply decide to pull the plug when the game stops being profitable. Ethically managed companies would work to improve their product and think long-term. Investors are more likely to slaughter the goose that lay golden eggs.

Honestly - at this point I’m not sure what’s worse - people continuing to fund Funcom’s destruction of the game, or people stopping funding leading to them giving up entirely. Neither option is desirable, but we’ve tried ā€˜continued funding’ for several years and the game has been made exponentially worse, and Funcom has shown increasing levels of contempt for the playerbase. So maybe it’s better to stop funding them, and if they do stop support in response at least that puts an end to the process of making it worse with every update.

Lol i thought that I’m the only one with this problem the game is unplayable for me on xbox one x since age of heroes. The game crashes any 10 minutes of gameplay I’m loosing fallowers resources and rare thralls. Why they are doing this? Trying to sell games but unplayable.

And that’s the secret, ain’t it?
You simply cannot imagine how much i admire people like @Vahlok and @sestus2009. When Keith is sending me message for chat on psn it’s my best. His spirit is so damn important for me, our chats are almost always truly important even when we speak for bs .
It’s very difficult to find patient people that wants the best for you and @LostBrythunian that’s way younger than these fellows is like the polar star, bright to guide and give hope.
So Conan exiles is full of good people, including you my dearest Master chef, yes we will find shelter in this game nonetheless, but how better would it be if it was functioning better huh?
Ok i won’t lie, these bugs, depending the company, produce laughter, still this is not a reason for them to stay .
(i tried to stay on topic too, lol).

I love it that some people’s inner child is being a mass-murdering, slave-taking barbarian. Anway, happy birthdays, guys, and let us continue our rampage, be it in this game or another.

I think the main problem with Funcom is that it hears too many players. It is like a bus giving each passenger a steering wheel and providing the driver only with a clutch pedal.

And this is not even the first time it happens, or the first time they do it. Conan Exiles EXISTS because it was done before:
A good idea for the next Age - General Discussion / Feedback - Funcom Forums

Like I said in my post a few days back, I had mostly no problems with the game until the solution tried for a problem that does not affect me changed the game in a way that does. Server problems in this game are directly result of trying to make a game relying solely on the Unreal Engine network system. That was not meant to make multiplayer games, that was meant to make solo games that rely on server for data, only. Coop is a very rough use of that system that stretches it to the farther possible use by allowing a second player in the same space.

No game of good performance is ever made using solely the network support of Unreal Engine, and that has a good reason: Unreal Engine is a modular engine that offers hooks for you to put your work on it. Hooking it up on itself is a performance drag that allows for all kinds of exploits and issues, because they are ment to be hooked up on a server that handles the inputs and the distributed networking, and links the clients through a middle manager. What the game does now is create what is essentially ā€œanother client that by chance has authority to run server stuffā€, and therefore subject to the same problems.

You can scrounge the game code as much as you like, if it is done that way, you will NEVER solve the server problems, no matter how much you try.

How do we know that ? Callum Uptown has a YouTube channel that talks about ā€œScam Crypto Gamesā€, and why is it relevant ? Scam crypto games are often made the same way because people dont want to pay a network guy like the ones my company employ, or a database guy, like me and other people are for my company, in terms of development, to make stuff run. They just ā€œstuff unreal with assets and stuffā€ and make the best they can with what they have.

I am pretty sure given the history of funcom, it was a necessity in the early days of Conan Exiles, but it is not anymore. I mean, Tencent money and consulting, experience, a sure source of money from the game itself, it have to be enough to make the COMPLETELY FEASIBLE change to a more stable format, which a correct server software for the game, a reality. You dont need to change the client of the game that much, and it would only make some changes to the style of server run. But it would not be ā€œfor the worseā€.

I mean, server owners, do you rather have a heavy loaded program to run a server that you cant even use without a ton of third part tools or a ton of skills, or a server that is a server and can be managed even with a web interface on a old pc ? Better yet, with less than 1/10th of the latency.

The problem is they seem to listen to ā€œmassive numbers of people telling them what to doā€ instead of doing what the professionals they have or can have would.
