Yes, Iām sure itās that. Funcom isnāt doing proper QA because theyāre listening to too many people. Console users canāt play the game in single-player mode because of the UE network support. Thank you for explaining that so eloquently. I guess @Croms_Faithful can close the topic now.
And like everyone that replied to you on that post pointed out - you finally got affected negatively by something, and somehow in your delusional mind you think that suddenly makes that the only problem that matters, after having spent years downplaying and dismissing every other issue that has screwed the game up for any other player. Your incredible selfishness and absolute belief that you are the only person that ever matters has been displayed over and over again. Seriously, how do you manage to get through doorways with a head a swollen as yours clearly is?
Yeah man, tell them!
i liked when they listened to People reporting bugs and problems on testlive before it went live on multiple ocassions or others like me who did not even wanted the update because i knew that it was too ambitious.
Or what about people were having hacker problems? i loved when funcom stopped that! oh! and we canāt forget about the exploits!
What about when they fixed the inventory? yeah donāt mind that the previous one actually worked We truly are blessed by such precious devs!
oh w8 THEY DID NOT LISTENED TO ANYONE. they did whatever the hell they wanted and instead on focusing on the new problems that they created, decided to focus in the most random feature in the history of gaming, FREACKING LIVING SETTLEMENTS, HURRAY!
Now, no one can play without a crash!
And as I blocked everyone who said that, and you now will be too: I am not saying that is the problem that matters, I am saying that, like a lot of other people also said, but like many, you only want to see what is in your interest, the problem is not addressing only the problems that affect me, but changing the game in ways to accommodate ANYONEās specific complaints at the expense of everyone else.
There are DOZENS of threads in the forum about people just like, pointing out the exact same problem: Our experience with the game was fine until they wrecked it trying to solve a problem we did not had.
Your argument is based on a notion that somehow it is logic for example to remove the fog light from cars because someone who never face fog complain the breaks do not work.
And only a handful of people tried to make the stupid point.
Welcome to the list, @DanQuixote! Youāre obviously doing it right
Yeah, because itās totally possible to make changes that donāt have a negative impact on anyone and literally everyone likes them and enjoys them. Yes, sir, itās not only doable, itās super easy, barely an inconvenience!
Thereās literally only one person on that thread who didnāt point out the irony of your hypocrisy. Everyone else did.
Oh, wait, I forgot you live in your own special safe place where you donāt see anyone who disagrees with you, because you go out of your way to erase them from your screen
I have to say, my only regret about being on your ignore list is that I canāt let you know how grateful I am for the endless entertainment you provide to the rest of us.
Hello and welcome, cookies and coffee are on the table.
Hallelujah!
We all have become believers at last .
Is it me?
@LostBrythunian
Sad but true my good fellow. I will first respond to your question before further expanding upon this point.
RE: Dune
When it comes to Dune, I am affraid Iā¦will not be joining you all. And once Conan Exiles concludes, Croms_Faithful must bid a sad farewell to the many wonderful people I have met here , and part ways with you all. I would like to clarify that this will NOT be due to Funcom, or the state and direction of Conan Exiles. There are two primary reasons for this departure, both underpinned by mulitfacetted complexities.
1.) Lore & World: the lesser of the two reasons. Unfortunately I do not know anything (stated emphatically) about Dune. The lore, the backstory, I have not seen a single movie or played any of its predecessors. What is more, if the entire world we play in is comprised entirely of desert, then Iām out. Much like Waterword or Hard Rain, too much of a single backdrop is monotonous and unappealing to me.
2.) Game Design & Delivery: the greater of the two reasons. Based on the limited information I have garnered, Duneās is going to be PvP, with a focus on guilds. Which no offence intended to our PvP community, is just not my forte. Happy to stand corrected if it is not. And here was the primary reason and the ultimate nail in the coffin for me: it is an MMO; meaning I cannot play without an internet connection, and there is no Singleplayer mode. So I couldnāt play it even if I want to.
I am certain Funcom will rejoice.
You should read āDuneā, the first book. Iām not going to recommend the whole series, but read the first book and see if you liked it
Thatās not an argument to buy the game, by the way. I just think that itās an awesome book that you are missing out on
Regarding point 2, my understanding (possibly out of date) was that there would be PVP āzonesā and it would not be compulsory (though there might be resources only available in those zones or something similar.). However, the lack of singleplayer, and purely online nature was a big downside for me as well.
I do know and enjoy the Dune setting - have read the first half dozen or so of the books (and agree with @CodeMage - the first book, in particular, is a decent read). However, I will not be touching the game - partly for the aforementioned lack of singleplayer (though I actually applaud the decision not to try to reach into every possible market - which is one of the things that has messed up Conan) - but mostly because I will never touch another Funcom product. Theyāve had the last money they will get out of me, unless they somehow turn things around and actually fix the game we all paid for and enjoyed. (And also fix the ācommunity teamā which currently is not fit for purpose.) IF there is some serious improvement in CE, then I might consider a foray towards Dune (as I say, it is an IP I enjoy) - but I donāt believe there will be - and I donāt believe Dune will follow a different path either in the long term.
I will consider it, but while I do very much enjoy reading, I currently have a huge backlog of both academic, and recreational literature to get through. I suspect that proverbially speaking, my eyes are too big for my belly. Yah, its a me problem.
And the OG Dune novel is a long read that deserves (and requires) attention.
For shorter options - I can also add that I always enjoyed the 1980s David Lynch film version - though it diverges and simplifies significantly, it still gives a fair idea of some core elements. And Iāve heard good things about the more recent films - though also some complaints particularly regarding the way one core relationship is handled (and that this may somehow need āfixingā in order for Dune Messiah (the sequel) to work in line with the books - hard for me to judge without having actually seen what the complaints are aboutā¦)
Edit: Not that you āshouldā read or watch anything - merely a couple of friends offering our opinions/recommendations
This one is in the same boat.
No desire to play a Dune game and no desire for the always online experience besides.
(Deleted by accident. Short version: Dune movies good.)
Me neither, who cares . If i follow Dune, then maybe i will start reading what other players have to say about it and start wonderful conversations again with new wonderful people
.
Yes⦠This dual blade .
For MMO experience right now i play elder scrolls online.
A definition of pay to win game, with expensive follow up. Not having the single player option was something that got me disappointed too brother. About the pvp options, MMO games have specific map for pvp always. If 2 players want to duel on the pve grid, itās something both of them have to accept. But the MMO experience has group efforts that no single player can do alone, no matter the knowledge or the ābuildā.
So i am not sure if iāll follow this game, only time will tell.
Above all they have to present it on our console first and so far i didnāt see any official statement that Dune is going to come on PlayStation too.
I will have to find a way to convince you i guess if the time comesā¦
Hereās two poor efforts .
Sage and Bella trying to survive in the scouring sands of Arakis after removing bracelet from the exile landsā¦
Itās an amazing experience, to learn a new game with a friend . Especially of this friend will got your back all the way.
Thereās the good, but thereās also the bad, e. g. the mob of idiots that tend to populate MMO games, especially those marketed as a PvP game.
One aspect I like(d) about Conan Exiles is that you can play as a single player game or on a private server. Pick your own crowd, or explore the dreadful Exiled Lands on your own.
Dune⦠will not only have all the problems of Funcom, but also of MMO PvP games.
It will, at least during its first life cycle, be populated by all the SchadowHexxxors and Clickmyd1cks who want to prove to the world that they are the greatest guys in the world by killing characters stuck in loading screens, telling us their country is the bestest of them all in global chat and that the world is governed by a secret cabal of blood-drinking reptiles.
Will all players be that way? Of course not. But too many for my taste.
So, no, thank you, no Dune for me.
Kind reminder - this thread isnāt about favourite books, gaining new friends and so on
